Beauty fan Shira explained that women often make a big mistake when applying highlighter, and not only is it not very flattering, but it will make you look dated too.
Sharing her advice on social media, Shira shared a clip with the caption ‘If you were born in the 80’s and early 90’s you were probably taught to highlight your brow bone with a bright white frosty shadow.’
The beauty whizz sarcastically added: ‘The whiter and more frosty the eyeshadow the better.’
She then continued: ‘This eyeshadow look definitely had its moment but using a warm champagne toned eyeshadow to highlight your brow bone is way more flattering and less dated.
‘Cool toned eyeshadows can also look sallow on the skin while a warmer time blends cohesively.’
Demonstrating her advice, Shira used a bright highlighter under one eyebrow, as she explained: “Make-up mistakes to avoid if you’re over 35.
“Instead of highlighting your brow bone with the super white and bright shade, yikes, use a warmer tone shadow to only highlight the arch of your brow bone.”
Under the other eyebrow, she then used a warmer eyeshadow colour, as she added: “Your brows will look lifted and snatched, without looking so dated.”
Showing off the different highlighters on her skin, Shira revealed that the simple trick can make a big difference to your face.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @simply.shira, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 26,100 views.
Social media users were thankful for the advice, with many beauty fans taking to the comments to express this.
