Stella Cini (@stellamariacini) filmed herself trying the experiment in a video on TikTok.
“I’m bored, so here’s what I’m thinking. What would happen if I were to dye my hair pink?
“Not with any hair dye, but with a beet? Let’s find out,” she said.
She added some boiled beets to a blender and extracted the reddish liquid from the more fibrous parts of the mixture.
“Extracted beet pigment. It’s going to be a very liquidy mixture,” she said.
She continued the experiment by applying the vegetable to her hair like traditional hair dye.
“I’m going to leave this on for hours because that’s what it says online.
“And then I’m going to come back and show you the result and see if you can actually dye your hair with a beet or not.

“Are we ready to see the magical makings of a beetroot? Because I am,” she said.
Stella revealed that the beet-based dye gave her hair an edgy pink tone.
“It’s a cool color, and I’m definitely not bored anymore,” she said.
The video drew in many viewers who shared their two cents in the comment section.
“This is great because you can dye kids’ hair with it, going to look great and not hurt their heads and hair in the process,” one wrote.
“Honestly I was skeptical at first but it is very cute,” another chimed in.
“My friend used to do this all the time growing up, they have a very hippie mom and also dyed clothes with different veggies,” a third commented.
