They claim the nourishing hand cream with 20% Shea butter “transforms hands from dry to soft and supple” after just one application.
It has a 4.5-star rating from happy customers and thousands of glowing reviews.
However, Ashley left her viewers eager to try Trade Joe’s Ultra Moisturizing hand cream, as it contains a strikingly similar formula for just $4.99.
According to the product description, it’s made with coconut oil, hemp seed oil, 20% pure shea butter, and “essential fatty acids and skin-friendly antioxidants” like vitamins C & E.
“We also add sunflower seed oil, sweet almond oil, and linseed extract, which are prized for their skin-soothing/skin-softening abilities.
“The end result here is a luxuriously thick and rich, paraben-free hand cream that will hydrate your dry, wintry hands and leave them smelling enchantingly fresh,” the description on the retailer’s website said.
Shea butter is a natural vegetable fat derived from processing nuts from the shea tree.
Shea butter has multiple benefits for the skin, including anti-aging and trapping moisture in the skin, according to MedicalNewsToday.
Raw, unrefined shea butter can be applied directly to the skin, as well as the lips and nail cuticles.
Studies have shown that its anti-inflammatory properties may also alleviate the symptoms of eczema.
The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology states allergic reactions are either extremely rare or non-existent, despite shea nut being considered a true nut.
