Asked to name his best team of all-time, Ronaldo lined up his side in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
A number of former team-mates and Brazil legends made the cut, but it was Gianluigi Buffon who he chose in goal.
Ahead of Buffon is a back four of Cafu, Franz Beckenbauer, Paolo Maldini and Roberto Carlos.
However, it is Ronaldo’s two central midfielders that have raised eyebrows the most.
Alongside Brazilian icon Zico is Diego Maradona, who was not known for his defensive abilities.
Instead, the Argentine World Cup winner starred as a playmaker behind the striker, opening teams up with his dribbling and skill.
In attack, Ronaldo chose himself ahead of a supporting cast of Lionel Messi, Pele and Ronaldinho to complete his line-up.
As well as the team, he also picked World Cup-winning coach Mario Zagallo as manager.
Reacting to Ronaldo’s team, one fan commented: “Don’t care how unrealistic it is to have Maradona and Zico in a double pivot, I love this.”
Another joked: “No one is tracking back.”
A third supporter added: “Zico’s got a lot of work to do in the midfield.”
One more also wrote: “Very unbalanced team, but just outscore your opponent and it’s fine I guess.”
Meanwhile, another fan argued: “Don’t need to defend if you never lose the ball.”
Ronaldo’s impressive playing career saw him turn out for PSV, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and AC Milan in Europe.
The two-time Ballon d’Or winner also scored 62 goals in 99 Brazil caps as well as winning both the 1994 and 2002 World Cups.
