THIS was the terrifying moment a shark was spotted near a Malaga beach in the fifth sighting off the Spanish coast in a month.
Brit tourists were seen fleeing to shore after they noticed the animal swimming in shallow waters.

Emily McEwan, who quickly left the water at Torremolinos beach, told The Sun Online: “It was a little bit of a surprise because we’ve all seen films like Jaws but you never really expect yourself to be in the sea when you see that fin.
“It happened on June 27 at about half past 11 in the morning.
“We were just on a family holiday for a few days in Malaga after I had my baby boy.
“A crowd started to gather on the beach whilst we were in the sea and I thought ‘I don’t like that, I don’t like that’, because whenever a crowd gathers on the beach it usually means something is wrong.
“And then to my right I saw a tail fin. That’s when a lifeguard came out and he sort of went up and down for quite a while.”
Emily said the shark stayed around for about half an hour before a lifeguard helped it swim back out to sea.
She added: “When I saw that shark I thought ‘ this can’t be real, like this doesn’t happen. We’re only in Spain and these are really shallow waters. It can’t be possible.’
“There was a beach bar as well, the staff were coming down going ‘don’t worry, it’s just a turtle, you don’t have to panic’.
“But it didn’t really look like a turtle.
“We all saw that fin and everybody came out of the water, like nobody was brave enough to stay in with that.
“Nobody got hurt, we all just stood and watched it swim.
“I don’t know whether it was in distress or it got caught on something, but it was sort of flailing about.
“The shark didn’t really show any interest towards us while we were in the water, which was good.
She later tried finding out which shark it was, but that still remains a mystery.
The mum shared the scary scenes on TikTok on June 27.
One follower commented: “Then people say there’s no sharks in places in Spain.”
Another added: “I ain’t going in the sea I’m sorry.”
A third replied: “Oh dear I go here in August.”
She captioned the post: “Off to the beach for what was meant to be a nice relaxing day.”
This is the fifth sighting off the coast of Spain in just a month, but scientists are completely stumped as to what could be drawing them to shore.
Dr Gavin Naylor, director of The Florida Program of Shark Research, said scientists at this stage simply cannot know what appears to drawing in the predatory fish.
But he did assure tourists that the area is not becoming a “dangerous hotspot” – and said the shark flurry could be a one-off event.
Scientists could not confirm why so many sharks were drawn to the Spanish shore
