Jai Sharma (portrayed by Chris Bisson) was over the moon when his long-term partner Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) proposed to him in the Hide.
Laurel had the idea it was time for them to take their relationship to the next level when Jai mistakenly booked a honeymoon suite for their upcoming family holiday.
But good news is almost always followed by turmoil in the ITV Dales and Jai’s world came crashing down when he found out he was adopted.
Rishi (Bhasker Patel) had no other choice but to tell Jai about his true parentage, leading to him finally learning he was the result of a one night stand between his mother Georgia and an unknown man.
Before Rishi could tell Jai the truth, both men were at loggerheads.
As he celebrated his engagement, Jai made it clear he wanted nothing to do with his father but his own son Archie soon dragged Rishi to the party taking place in the Hide.
However, in scenes due to air next week, Rishi is caught up by a mysterious figure lurking around Holdgate.
Fans of the Yorkshire-based drama may be hoping to see serial killer Meena Jutla return to the eponymous village to make her sister Manpreet’s life a nightmare.
Meena Jutla was thrown behind bars in early 2022, after her many murders were exposed.
But she’s highly unlikely to be returning and, soon enough, the mystery person is revealed to be another member of Rishi’s family.
