DATING is hard enough as it is, but when you bring money into the equation it can all get a bit complicated.

Posting on her TikTok account, Lauren explained the role money plays in her relationships, and said that men can get intimidated when they find out how much she earns.
“I’ve never had a relationship with a guy who’s earnt the same, similar or more than me,” she confessed.
In fact, in her last relationship she raked in over double what her other half was making.
And on one more than one occasion men have been left wondering what they can offer Lauren, since she is so self-sufficient.

But it’s their loss if they can’t work out what they have to offer.
“I think any man that may be intimidated by that is not the one for me anyway,” she said.
Men would often be shocked when they found out she owned her own flat when she was younger as well, which surprised her.
Lauren, who earns over £100k, said now she would prefer to date someone who earns a similar amount to her.
“It would be much easier to maintain my lifestyle,” she explained.
That said, Lauren said that dating and money is a “complex combo.”
After sharing her experience on social media other singletons chimed in.
One commented: “My mum always said ‘date within your tax code’. She said this to everyone. There’s truth in it.”
A second noted: “My partner earns less than me but emotional availability, trust and support is worth 10 times more than any amount of money.”
“I earned double what my husband did when we met, now he earns four times what I do. It doesn’t matter,” someone else said.
Another noted: “I’ve out earned all my ex’s, it impacted the relationships in ways I didn’t expect.”
