The Different Types Of Men Jewellery

There is a good line between wearing a ring and looking like a Godfather and putting on a statement necklace and resembling 2 Chainz. The key to wearing jewellery is to do it casually. Men’s jewellery is all about the accessories added after your outfits, such as rings, watches, tie bars, rings, cufflinks, necklaces, and earrings. Should you wear all the jewellery at once? Of course no, however after some time with reasonable confidence, you will be able to. The following are types of men’s jewellery.

Watches

A watch has always been used to check on time, but in today’s world, it’s more of a piece of jewellery to most men, they also invest o a lot of money on it to show off some complications or an authentic look. You can argue if it has a metal band, it looks like a piece of jewellery, or if it has a leather strap, it looks like an accessory, but when the day ends, it doesn’t matter. What you feel and think is all that matters.

Shirt Studs & Waistcoat Buttons

Waistcoat buttons and shirt studs are not popular anymore today. Traditionally, the shirt studs were worn with formal black tie or white tie outfits and they were more attractive than the regular buttons currently sewn-on dress shirts. The shirt studs were always won with cufflinks and would perfectly be on set. Most people don’t attend the black-tie functions today, so it’s valuable to own a pair of cufflinks that can be worn independently.

Traditionally, most men would wear removable matching waistcoat buttons, cufflinks, and shirt studs. It was known as the complete dress set, and they do not find it anymore. You have to buy vintage, but if you want to dress up for a white and black tie, you might go an extra mile so that you can look more attractive.

Cufflinks

Cufflinks always serve a purpose, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be used as jewellery. Cufflinks are widely worn today when it comes to men’s jewellery. Most of them are less expensive metals. The precious metals include rose gold, yellow gold, white gold, sterling silver, and platinum. You can own a sterling silver cufflink that is heavily coated with gold or platinum that won’t rub off.

Other cufflinks contain decorative elements like enamel or semi-precious stone inserts, while others are made out of the shell or some jade. Cufflinks will require you to wear a shirt made for them which can be a double cuff or French cuff shirt that is folded over, but for a white tie, a single cuffed shirt is worn with cufflinks. You can also try combination cuffs, which are button cuffs with two buttonholes matched with a cufflink.

Bracelets

They are small and easily stackable. Bracelets are easy to go overboard with, but when it comes to men, less is more. You should mind your watch if you are wearing any bracelet because your hands are a pair and they will be seen with each other, including the accessories that are on them. Wooden or leather bracelets will pair with business casual and casual outfits. Metal bracelets are more formal.

Necklaces

Wearing many necklaces is not advisable. A necklace should accentuate your overall outfit and personality since it will be hidden inside your shirt, buy here. Wearing more than two necklaces looks excessive. You should also consider the rest of your outfit when wearing a necklace. If you want to look more formal, you might leave the hemp necklace. Metal necklaces are more traditional and best suit an occasion.

Rings

When someone thinks of a ring on a man, traditionally, a wedding ring is the first thing you will think of. However, rings can be served with the purpose of an ornament if it won’t be more than two rings. The maximum number of rings should be 3, and also, you have to check on the implication of which finger is worn. The less bulk the ring will be, the better. Most rings are metal, and it’s essential that you also match them with other metal accessories like necklaces. Consider a hybrid or wooden ring for a casual look.

Tie bars and clips

Tie bars are both fashionable and functional. They are a great accent piece, and they will keep your tie in a good position. When you are using one tie bar, always place it in a proper way and width. The appropriate place to put it in between the 3rd and 4th shirt button while the proper width is half the width of a tie.

Earrings

Earrings are one of the hardest jewellery men can pull off even when they are at the workplace. Earrings bring a lot of attention to your face; with that in mind, use them lightly. If you are professional, ensure you check your employees’ handbook for the rules on putting on earrings while in the office.

Collar pins, clips, and bars

Collar pins are among the jewellery that men mostly used during the old days. They completely lost their appeal and clothes horses or candles would put them on to attract their unique style. Most men have started wearing collar clips due to the shows they see that attract them into trying it.

Collar clips are also worn by men who feel like they don’t have to put on a uniform but see fashion as their style. Traditionally, collar bars were worn with narrow collars because you couldn’t have that great spread and would elevate the tie knot slightly. Today, collars are a bit spread and so the customers suggest more comprehensive collar clips.

Belt buckles

Most men think that belt buckles are very functional and can’t be used as an ornament. If you think of it, cowboys look so attractive with sterling silver buckles, and they look more of a piece of jewellery than a functional piece.

Any jewellery, when worn correctly, can complement your outfit greatly. Always remember that less is more when using accessories.
