Goosebumps is back! (Picture: Disney+)
Spooky season is almost upon us, and we’ve now got the perfect TV series to watch on autumnal nights – Goosebumps.
The revived series based on R.L. Stine’s books has been picked up by Disney+, and the first half of the ten episodes will drop on October 13th as part of the ‘Hallowstream’ celebrations.
Noughties kids who watched the previous series, read the books, or saw the movie are going to love the scary nostalgia, and the popular franchise will no doubt find plenty of new fans too.
Things will kick off straight away with plenty of mystery and suspense that we’ve grown to expect from Goosebumps. We’ll be introduced to a group of five high school students, who will embark on a ‘shadowy and twisted journey’ to discover more about the tragic passing of a teen named Harold Biddle, which happened three decades earlier.
While on their investigation, they will also unearth dark secrets from their parents’ past. Intriguing!
The trailer entitled ‘Don’t blink’ gives us further insight into what’s going to go down, with the five high schoolers looking mesmerised by something in the distance before a series of scary images flash up which include a close-up of an eye, a person wearing a creepy mask, and a woman screaming.
The series will take inspiration from books – Say Cheese and Die!, The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms! and Night of the Living Dummy.
Bringing the words to life will be a stellar cast – Hollywood royalty Justin Long and Rachael Harris will be joined by new talent including Eastenders star Zack Morris, Star Trek: Picard’s Isa Briones and Gossip Girl actor Ana Yi Puig.
Speaking ahead of the launch Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis said: ‘R.L. Stine’s ‘Goosebumps’ franchise is a pop culture phenomenon that holds a special place in the hearts of people of all ages.’

That’s not the only creepy TV show arriving on the small screen – the new episode of American Horror Story will premiere later this month.
Kim Kardashian shocked fans when she announced she would be flexing her acting muscles for the next instalment – but it seems she may have known something fans didn’t.
Following the release of a first glimpse trailer, viewers online were thrilled to discover the Skims founder, 42, played quite the role in the upcoming episode titled Delicate.
