Channel 4 has announced a special episode of Dispatches to air on Saturday night – but has not revealed what it is about.
The popular investigative series has previously tackled everything from children affected by eviction to Russian interference in Britain, with each episode generally coming in at between 30 to 60 minutes long.
However a new episode slated to air on Saturday night is due to come on air at a later time of 9pm, and is 90 minutes long.
Usually, the schedule will give a title and information about what the episode will tackle, but this upcoming one simply reads: ‘New: Dispatches Special. A 90-minute special Dispatches investigation.’
It appears even those usually in the know are being kept in the dark, with Channel 4 News anchor and Strictly Come Dancing star Krishnan Guru-Murthy sharing a screenshot of the mysterious listing.
He wrote simply: ‘Something’s up.’

And in an even more thought-provoking twist, Krishnan deleted his tweet shortly afterwards.
Speculation has abounded on social media, with unconfirmed reports on anonymous gossip site Deux Moi that the episode centres around a ‘number’ of high-profile comedians, however this has not been confirmed.
It comes amid strong rumours the Sunday Times are preparing to report on a high-profile story in their weekend edition, however this again has not been confirmed.
Dispatches first broadcast on Channel 4 in 1987 and covers everything from society and politics to health and religion.
The series has won multiple awards, including seven best current affairs at the British Academy Television Awards.
