LEGENDARY Hindi actor Seema Deo has passed away aged 83 following a battle with Alzheimer’s.
The Indian cinema star passed away on Thursday, just a year after the death of her beloved husband and actor Ramesh Deo, 93.

The iconic actress had been battling Alzheimer’s since 2020
The couple’s youngest son, filmmaker Abhinay Deo, announced the news of his mother’s death in a short statement.
He said: “Mom passed away earlier today.
“She was fine, she was suffering from Alzheimer’s, but otherwise she was fine.”
Seema’s family revealed she had been diagnosed with the brain disorder in 2020 and called on fans to pray for her.
Abhinay later told PTI: “She passed away at 8.30-9 am at her residence in Bandra due to old age.
“She had been withdrawn completely, and eventually it is just old age.
“Alzheimer’s is such a thing that you stop figuring out how to function.
“She had dementia leading up to Alzheimer’s and she was suffering from it for over three years.”

The iconic actress had stayed out of the limelight in recent years, but remained popular among Hindi and Marathi movie fans.
Her death comes just over a year after her husband Ramesh passed away after suffering a heart attack in February 2022.
The pair first met each other in a local train station before getting hitched in 1963 and going on to enjoy 59 years of marriage.
The Mumbai-born mom-of-two had starred in over 80 films throughout her illustrious career.
Seema boasted roles in the likes of Miya Bibi Razi, Dus Lakh, Kashmakash, Sunehera Sansar and Naseeb Apna Apna.
Her final appearance on the big screen came in 2021 in Jivan Sandhya.
The modest movie star said she owed her success to her late pal and fellow actor Raja Paranjpe, who acted as her mentor.
She previously said: “Whatever I could achieve in my career, it’s all because of my guru Raja Paranjpe.
“He not only taught me to act but also trained me so rigorously that it became very natural.”
Seema is survived by her two sons, Abhinay and actor Ajinkya.
Her loved ones are set to gather to say goodbye to her at 5pm in Shivaji Park.
