THE Princess of Wales is always the picture of elegance, and today was no different as she wore a tailored navy-blue suit to visit High Down Prison in Surrey.
Kate Middleton, 41, wore her usual glossy curls and sleek pump heels, and over the years, there’s another accessory she’s often seen wearing at Royal visits, a beige-coloured plaster.

Kate stepped out in Surrey today to visit High Down Prison, as a Patron of The Forward Trust, to learn about how the charity is supporting those in the criminal justice system to manage and recover from their addiction.
She was seen wearing two plasters across her index and middle finger after sustaining an injury while trampolining with her children.
But it isn’t the first time the Princess of Wales has been spotted wearing the medical aid while out and about.
Despite her perfectly manicured hands, it seems the Royal is constantly nicking her hands.
Here we look back at all the other times she’s been snapped with a plaster in place…

1. All thumbs
As Kate stepped out for her first engagement of 2020 with Prince William in Bradford, she was seen wearing a plaster on her thumb.
The pair first visited City Hall before moving to MyLahore, a curry house which does a lot of charitable work in the community, where they immediately got stuck in making lassis.

2. Nailed it?
The mum-of-three was pictured with a plaster on her right thumb when she appeared in camel-coloured culottes and a cream shirt at Chelsea Flower Show back in 2019.
She was showing off her rustic Back To Nature garden – which features a campfire, swing seat and tree house – which she later presented to the Queen in a £2,500 Erdem dress.

3. Clumsy Kate?
Kate had also injured herself when she was pictured at Sandringham on Christmas Day several years ago, sporting a plaster on her thumb.
The royals notoriously unwrap their presents the night before, so perhaps she got a pesky paper cut when opening her gag gift.

5. Sore thumb
The Princess of Wales is a passionate campaigner for teen mental health and was in Luton learning about support for young people when this snap was taken in August 2016.

6. Looks familiar
Kate wore a gorgeous turquoise dress by one of her favourite designers, Jenny Packham, as she joined Prince William at the Tusk Convention Awards in London back in November 2018.
The savvy duchess had recycled the gown from an event six years earlier.
But we couldn’t help being drawn to the small circular plaster on her middle finger.

7. Red alert
Catherine had yet another thumb cut when she chatted with Dame Helen Mirren and Sir David Attenborough at a Buckingham Palace event in February 2014.
She laughed away as she chatted to the Queen’s guests, so clearly it wasn’t causing her too much bother.

8. Third time’s a charm
Kate was visiting The Fostering Network to celebrate the work of young foster carers when she was snapped in January 2016.
And her third finger was wrapped in a band aid, as our friends across the Pond would say.

9. Feeling blue?
Whatever caused this cut, it was clearly a deep one, as it was still lingering when Kate visited the Kensington Leisure Centre three days later.
Luckily there was no lasting damage to her immaculate skin.

10. We have to hand it to her
Kate was also sporting a plaster on her index finger when she was pictured after a service at the RAF church St Clement Danes in February 2016.
This time she wore a subtle clear cover-up.

11. Rule of thumb
In case you’re wondering if this is a new phenomenon, we can confirm it is not.
Here Kate is leaving Bouji nightclub after a birthday night out way back in April 2008.
And what’s that on her thumb? Yep, a plaster.

12 In the jeans?
This snap was taken even earlier, in August 2005.
Kate had yet to marry into the Royal Family, hence the casual jeans, when she was pictured with a plaster on her thumb at the Gatcombe Park Festival.
She was, however, already dating her Prince Charming.
So why all the cuts?
Has she been nicking herself cooking, are the kids accidentally scratching her or do the royals have a secret cat we don’t know about?
The answer, we’re afraid, is nobody really knows.
Buckingham Palace refused to comment when they were approached by The Mirror, insisting: “We have no comment on the plaster.”
