A SELF-DESCRIBED ‘Lush Queen’ was hoping for a nice, relaxing bath with her latest purchase.
But the lavender bath bomb didn’t go quite to plan, as she revealed in a video on her TikTok page.

“I was not expecting a whole lavender bush to break out my Lush bath bomb (aggressively),” she began.
While it started off as a “pretty pink fizzer”, releasing a “beautiful calming lavender aroma”, things started to go wrong when it “expelled the first lavender baby”.
“Now things get wild!” she wrote over the top of the video, showing the lavender pieces spilling quickly out of the bomb.
“It started aggressively dispersing millions of lavender pieces into the bath,” she said.
“And it just wouldn’t stop!”
She said that the bomb needed to “chill out”, but admitted it was “still going for it” a few minutes later.
Showing the lavender segments floating in the water, she added: “It looks like a load of bugs in the bath.”
The pieces began sticking “to my skin”, as she predicted getting the bath clean again after her soak wouldn’t be the “relaxing, calming experience I had in mind”.
“RIP drain,” she sighed.
“The one with lavender Lush bath bomb was a wild experience,” she captioned the video.
“They SHOULD include the mesh bag if their bath bombs will disperse herbs of any kind,” one person commented on the clip.
“Who has time to clean all that up?”
“I know right?!” the woman replied.
“Took the relaxing experience and threw it out the window with that mess!”
“I ALWAYS throw my bath bombs in a meshy bag thing before throwing them in if i haven’t used them before,” another added.
“I HATE the floaty bits, so that was a gamechanger for me.”

“I used this once, never again!” a third admitted.
“The lavender bits were all stuck in my hair for daysssss!”
“Argh I’m glad I’ve seen this I loved the smell but this is too messy!” someone else wrote.
“And the mess defeats the lavender calming fragrance for sure!” the poster replied.
“I laughed too hard, I’m sorry!” another added.
“I can laugh now but at the time I wanted to cry!” the Lush Queen responded.
People had similar things to say about ‘The One with Lavender’ bath bomb, which sells for £6 a pop.
“In the description for this bomb it fails to mention that the center is loaded with lavender,” one wrote.
Are Lush bath bombs worth the mess?
Lush superfan, beauty blogger, and freelance digital writer Beth Mahoney revealed her thoughts on the lavender Lush bath bomb. She explained:
“There’s no arguing with how fresh the Lush products are, and how many natural ingredients, like swathes of dried lavender, are packed into their products.
“It’s also important to understand that the Lush bath bomb range is designed to create an immersive bath time experience.
“Instead of being just another basic bath fizzer, the Lush bath bombs are made with quirky, unique and unexpected features, from dissolvable eco-friendly glitter and wheels that actually roll to hidden centres and lashings of dried flowers.
“I’ve tried out a lot of Lush bath bombs and the Lavender Deep Sleep bath bomb is one of my absolute favourites. Yes, it makes a little bit of a mess when it spurts lavender throughout your bathtub, but it smells totally divine and leaves you feeling relaxed and calm.
“For removing bath bomb remnants from my bathtub I either wash them down the drain – after all, everything used in these products is drain-friendly – or allow larger items (like petals) to be caught in my drain catcher, ready to be disposed of.
“If you’re not a fan of the mess that bath bombs can sometimes create, a really great hack for preventing bath bombs that expel ingredients into the bathtub from making a mess or clogging the drain is to pop them in a mess bag before dropping them in the water.”
“I dropped this in and it fizzed very quickly.
“I grabbed it because I thought it was salt but when I broke it, tons of lavender.
“Way too much for a bath. You would need to take a shower after and that should not be going down drains!”
However, others insisted that the cleaning process that comes with the bomb is worth it.
“Wish I had known about the explosion of lavender flower that comes out!” one wrote.
“Whilst it’s frustrating to clean out at 39 weeks pregnant, it sure is a wonderful bath bomb and I will buy again.”
“Within about ten seconds of dropping this into my bath, I felt amazing,” another added.
“I was feeling under the weather and the scent was healing. I have used and loved other LUSH lavender bombs, but this one was next level.
“So amazing that I didn’t even mind having to rinse down the lavender bits.”
