A HAIR growth guru has candidly revealed how she used to lose her locks in clumps.
She said an inexpensive product, which her grandmother swore by during chemotherapy, helped her grow it back.

Mila Magnani (@mila.magnani) filmed herself discussing various hair growth products and techniques in a video on TikTok.
“My hair used to fall out in clumps when I took a shower. It would be all over the house,” she said.
She attributed the hair loss — or alopecia — to polycystic ovarian syndrome (or PCOS) and hypothyroidism.
“For me, the biggest difference was just sticking to a good brand that your hair loved back.
“And one brand that I grew up with and that I really love is Daviness.
“I use their nourishing line because of course, with hypothyroidism your hair dries out and it’s always super dry and then use their OI oil, which I love because it brings a lot of shine into my hair,” she added.
The Daviness OI oil is available from Nordstrom, retailing for $51.
She also encouraged nourishing the body from the inside out, incorporating healthy fats into her diet as well as supplementing Omega-3.

Mila also shared a hair growth tip passed down to her by her grandmother.
“Speaking of blood flow, at the end of the day, I would grab the shampoo brush and I’d just massage my scalp,” she said.
“And this tip, believe it or not, my grandmother taught me it and she credits this for being the reason why she did not lose one single hair when she went through chemotherapy twice,” she added.
A similar brush by Aimike is available on Amazon, selling for $8.99.
She also shared her experience with a viral trend, saying it wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
“I tried the viral rosemary oil, it didn’t do anything,” she said.
She said that in addition to her leave-in, she wears her hair in a protective style.
“I just do the basics. I sleep with a hair protective hairstyle, I do a soft braid,” she said.
“I don’t really trust a lot of products out there, especially supplements for hair growth, because most of them unfortunately, use biotin and that breaks me out,” she added.
