Ruth Langsford has revealed the secret behind her iconic hair ‘do days before it is claimed she will detail her split from Eamonn Holmes for the first time on Loose Women.
The former This Morning presenter, 64, shared a video on Instagram of a stylist adding extensions into her hair for ‘extra volume’ after her barnet ‘got thinner in the menopause.’
She captioned the post: ‘Had my extensions renewed @leobancroft salon …..I don’t have them for length, just for extra volume after my hair got thinner in menopause.
‘These are so tiny I hardly feel I have them in….but really notice the difference when I don’t! Thanks as always @laurenhoughtonhair for your expertise and the laughs! 😂 #hairextensions #leobancroftsalon.’
Ruth’s visit to the salon comes the week before it is reported she will open up about her shock divorce from Eamonn, 64, on ITV show Loose Women.
‘The presenters on Loose Women have a history of opening up about their marriage splits on air and it’s a very supportive environment.

‘Ruth knows the viewers are heavily invested in her breakup so she will be addressing her and Eamonn for the first time on the show,’ a TV insider told MailOnline.
‘The audience has been there through the highs and the lows of her relationship, she has always been very open and honest and next week will be no different… she owes it to the viewers to say something.
‘She will be surrounded by the people she’s closest to on the show and then will be drawing a line under it… she has no plans to do a big interview, this will be the one and only time she speaks.’
Ruth took an extended break from Loose Women after it was announced she was splitting from her husband of 14 years, Eamonn.

Since then, she has kept a low profile but shared social media updates, including that she was cooking a curry for a girls’ night.
Eamonn, meanwhile, has already addressed their divorce on his GB News show.
‘I’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation,’ he said in May.
‘Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.’

Reports have suggested that Ruth feels guilty that Eamonn’s health has taken a turn after their break-up.
This comes after Eamonn, who was seen using a walking aid, claimed he was on ‘borrowed time’ and said: ‘I’m not OK. This is not a good time at all.’
However, it has been said that Eamonn is being supported by a new friend, relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, after a ‘string of outings’ together – and she’s reportedly ‘in it for the long haul’.
Last month, it was claimed that Eamonn had been showering a close friend – who works as a relationship counsellor and who he’s known for several years – with gifts, leaving Ruth ‘angry’.

It was later said that Ruth was left extremely upset by the discovery of messages sent between her spouse and another woman on his laptop.
The gifts reportedly included tickets to a Beyoncé concert, a visit to Center Parcs and tickets to watch Manchester United at Old Trafford.
At the time, counsellor Katie was not said to be a reason for the marriage breakdown.
Eamonn and Ruth announced in a joint statement in May they were divorcing, with reports stating work commitments had resulted in the TV duo drifting in ‘different directions’, but they were determined to ‘keep things amicable’.

Their wedding, after 13 years of dating, was attended by TV presenters Gloria Hunniford and Jeremy Kyle, EastEnders actress Zoe Lucker and former champion boxer Barry McGuigan.
Eamonn also has three children, Declan, Rebecca and Niall, from his first marriage.
The former couple first began presenting ITV daytime programme This Morning together in 2006.
