Djokovic 1/5 Odds to Win Australian Open 2023; Women’s Final Tightly Contested on Paper

NOVAK DJOKOVIC looks set to be cruising to a record equalling 22nd Grand Slam at the Australian Open.

With Nick Kyrgios and world number one Carlos Alcaraz missing the tournament, the competition looked like Djokovic’s to lose.

That was even before the early departure of some of his closest rivals.

Daniil Medvedev – who Djokovic beat in straight sets in the warm-up event in Adelaide – was dumped out, along with Taylor Fritz and Jannik Sinner.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is the nearest challenger now at 4/1 and faces Karen Khachanov in the semis.

While Djokovic faces off against American Tommy Paul, now 33/1 to win the full thing.

While in the women’s draw, Elena Rybakina – who dumped out favourite Iga Swiatek – faces Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka in Saturday’s final.

It looks a tough one to call on paper, with Sabalenka just favourite.

She’s 4/6 for victory, with Rybakina available at 11/10.
