PRESIDENT Donald Trump’s reelection campaign misspelled the Nobel Prize as “Noble” in an advertisement touting a nomination the president received for the peace award.
The image contains the text: “President Trump was nominated for the Noble Peace Prize.”
Trump was nominated for the prize earlier this week by far-right Norwegian lawmaker Christian Tybring-Gjedde.
Tybring-Gjedde gave Trump credit for leading negotiations last month between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
“All efforts that lead to peace in that region should be awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize and also for Donald J. Trump,” the Norwegian leader told Fox News.
While the image in the ad contained a typo, the accompanying caption on Facebook had the word spelled correctly.
“President Trump achieved PEACE in the MIDDLE EAST! Did you hear the news that he has been nominated for the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his hard work?” the caption stated.
“Stand with President Trump today to show your support for his dedication to making the world a better place and keeping America SAFE!”
The ad, which is now showing as inactive, was paid for by the Trump Make America Great Again Committee.
Trump celebrated his nomination for the peace prize by retweeting messages of congratulations.
However, many Twitter users felt he was undeserving of the nomination and mocked it.
Tybring-Gjedde nominated Trump for the 2019 Nobel Prize for his efforts around diplomacy with North Korea.
