STRICTLY Come Dancing fans were left in tears tonight when Greg Wise dedicated his disco routine to his late sister Clare.

His emotional tribute moved many viewers at home as the 55-year-old revealed he was his sister’s carer in the final months of her life.

The actor – best known for starring in Sense and Sensibility alongside his wife Emma Thompson – danced to If You Could Read My Mind by Ultra Naté, Amber and Jocelyn Enrique.

In a video that played before he took to the dancefloor with pro partner Karen Hauer, Greg revealed: “My sister was first diagnosed with breast cancer and she had the brutal treatment of chemotherapy.

“But I don’t think she was ever out of the woods, because it was found out early on she had bone cancer and she died a year later.

“It is one of the hardest things when you are with someone you love and you are witnessing their pain and fear and you are working out what you can do to mitigate that.”

Two face elimination!

STRICTLY Come Dancing will wave goodbye to a celebrity and their professional partner TOMORROW after just two weeks of dancing.

Tonight’s show saw the leaderboard turned upside down as Dragons Den star Sara Davies shot from the bottom to the top with a Foxtrot.

While EastEnders actress Nina Wadia failed to impress the judges, scoring just 18 points for her tango, which could leave her in danger of elimination.

Elsewhere, Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu impressed the panel with their energetic Cha Cha – bagging an sizeable score of 30.

Olympic gold-medallist Adam Peaty may have impressed last week – but his Quickstep fell flat, leaving him with a total score of 19 on Saturday’s show.

But it was young chef Tilly Ramsay who shot to the top of the leaderboard with a HUGE 34 points for her Charleston with pro dancer Nikita Kuzmin.

Nonetheless, the public vote could turn things upside down. Luckily fanswill only have to wait until tomorrow night to find out the result!

Nina and Greg favourites to be eliminated

Nina and Greg lead the betting with Ladbrokes to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

The duo are the joint favourites at 2/1 apiece to face the first exit from the hit BBC One show this year, while 3/1 says Katie goes instead.

Ugo’s rated as a 4/1 shot to leave on Sunday night, with Judi next in line at 5/1.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Greg has been backed all week for the first exit, but after finishing bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday night punters reckon Nadia could be a goner.”

Fuelling rumours

STRICTLY pro Nikita Kuzmin’s girlfriend Nicole Wirt has fuelled Tilly Ramsay curse rumours with a cryptic post about ‘support’.

Just two weeks into the competition, speculation around Nikita and Tilly’s relationship has begun to swirl.

Professional dancer Nicole has now shared a picture of a lonely figure with no support beside a mass of bodies eager to offer congratulations.

Underneath the meme, Nicole wrote: “Don’t get fooled… It be like that” followed by a shh emoji.

The Frankfurt-based dancer was initially full of praise for Nikita and Tilly’s waltz in the first live show.

However, those messages disappeared and she has not posted any backing the duo since The Sun’s images the following day of 19-year-old Tilly — daughter of TV chef Gordon — letting Ukrainian Nikita, 23, into her flat at night.

Nicole had also posted a cryptic message online, saying: “Overthinking never lead me anywhere good…”

Tilly and Nikita grow closer

TILLY Ramsay has introduced dance-partner Nikita Kuzmin to her uni-pals – after logging on for lessons during rehearsals.

The daughter of TV chef Gordon has become “inseparable” from the 23-year-old Strictly-pro during their training. 

A source said: “Due to Strictly training, Tilly is having to combine uni with dancing but she has been able to successfully mix things up.

“She’s been logging into lessons online from rehearsals and last week took the chance to introduce Nikita to some of her mates.

“It was a bit surreal for everyone else but Tilly is hoping she is going to be part of the show for many more weeks so she thought it was important her uni colleagues got the chance to say hello. 

“Since being paired Tilly and Nikita have been inseparable.

“They’ve probably put in more hours of training than any other couple and have become really good friends.”

Viewers open-mouthed at Adam Peaty’s very obvious trouser problem

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans couldn’t take their eyes off Olympian Adam Peaty’s tight trousers as he danced the quickstep with pro partner Katya Jones.

The Olympic Gold Medalist, 26, dressed to impress on the BBC One competition tonight in grey trousers and a checked shirt.

But the look left something to be desired in the eyes of people watching at home.

Dozens claimed that they’d spotted one big problem with Adam’s high-waisted trousers as he danced to Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet.

One said: “Could anyone actually watch Adam’s dance? All i could see was that grotesque wedgie!”

Another scoffed: “The Strictly stylist is on a mission to make @adam_peaty’s trousers tighter every week aren’t they?”

Ladbrokes new favourite to win

AJ Odudu is the new favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing with Ladbrokes.

After another showstopping routine AJ’s odds of winning were halved by the bookies into 5/2 (from 5/1) and the TV host now sits in pole position to lift the glitterball trophy this year.

Rose occupies second in the betting at 3/1, with John close behind at 10/3. Adam’s fancied at 5/1 with Rhys a 9/1 shot.

Meanwhile, having finished bottom of the leader board in week one and then top in week two, Sara is now chalked up at 50/1 to go the whole way

Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse won Strictly Come Dancing 2020 beating HRVY, Maisie Smith and Jamie Laing in the grand final.

The 55-year-old comedian made history as he became the oldest contestant to take home the Glitterball trophy.

Host Tess Daly announced the result as the nine-week series came to an end early because of coronavirus.

The fiery chef was overcome with emotion watching social media star Tilly dance the Charleston with partner Nikita Kuzmin.

Craig Revel Horwood has shocked fans with his open sniping at fellow judge Anton Du Beke.

The panel’s Mr Nasty was back at his fiery best tonight and couldn’t resist aiming some of his venom at his fellow judge.

Giving critiques to Katie McGlynn, Anton admitted he missed one of her mistakes.

He said: “Luckily for you, I didn’t actually notice the mistakes. I might have been jotting something down so you might have got one passed me.

“I enjoyed the performance and your acting – you’re a fine actress. You brought that to the performance.”

However, as Craig wasn’t going to let Anton’s slip go.

“Anton you need to keep a watchful eye, darling,” he said as he began his own critique.

“A little note for Anton,” he added to boos.

Ugo Monye has shed over a stone since training

Ugo Monye has revealed he’s shed over A STONE in just three weeks of training with Strictly Come Dancing professional partner Oti Mabuse.

The former player, 38, who has been rehearsing for up to eight hours a day with two-time winner Oti, 31, even compared his pre-training stomach to a beer keg.

He said: “We’ve been training for three weeks and I’ve lost 15 pounds.

“Lockdown three I went hard for it, I ate and drank whatever I wanted so I had 15 pounds to lose, trust me.

“The show couldn’t have come at a better time. I wear my smart watch to clock how many steps just because I don’t think people appreciate that dancing is a true athletic sport.”

Strictly’s Adam Peaty admits he understands why couples are rocked by the show’s famous ‘curse’.

The Olympic swimming champion, 26, is having a blast learning a new skill and being put through his paces by pro dancer Katya Jones, 32.

And while he’s in a happy relationship with girlfriend Eiri Munro, 23, Adam says he can see why relationships blossom in the rehearsal room.

Demonstrating a saucy manoeuvre during an interview with The Times, he said: “My hips are here, hers are here, and then we do this… You get close. I can see how it happens.”

Adam and artist Eiri met on Tinder at the beginning of 2020 and within months were expecting their son George.

SHIRLEY Ballas nearly quit Strictly after one series as head judge because she found it tough to cope with the overnight fame.

Shirley, 61, who replaced Len Goodman in 2017, said she asked her mum whether she should return.

She eventually decided to carry on — and has never looked back since.

Shirley, known as The Queen of Latin during her dance career, said: “The mainstream fame which is handed to you by shows like Strictly has been quite hard to deal with.

“You have to be resilient when people start writing or saying unkind things about you.

“When the producers asked me back for a second go, I asked my mother if she thought it was a good idea. It is invasive on your private life but, eventually, we decided it would be OK to do it again.”

Sophie Ellis-Bextor reveals devastating toll Strictly took on her marriage

SOPHIE Ellis-Bextor has revealed the strain Strictly put on her marriage to Richard Jones.

The 42-year-old singer said it “gave our foundations a good old shake” and admitted she paid a “heavy price” for starring on the BBC One show.

Sophie made it to the final of the series in 2013 dancing with Brendan Cole, finishing in fourth place.

She said it was a joint decision between her and Richard, who plays bass for rock band The Feeling, to go on the show – famous for its “curse“.

Angry dancers call in union over unvaccinated pros deepens

SEVERAL pro dancers have called in their union in the Strictly vacinnes row — as ex-head judge Len Goodman blasted the “madness” of pressing ahead without mandatory jabs.

The dancers have asked for advice and support in a tense-stand off with show bosses that could even lead to industrial action.

The Saturday night BBC1 hit has been in crisis since at least three pro dancers said they did not want to be inoculated.

One later went along for their jab. But make-up artists and hairdressers from the backstage “Glam Squad” — who come into close contact with stars and their dance partners — have said they are unvaccinated too.

Len, head judge for 14 years, told The Sun on Sunday: “I don’t understand why everyone on Strictly wasn’t required to be fully vaccinated before the show started.”
