Killer nurse Lucy Letby formed a prison ‘gang’ with a fellow baby murderer and a woman who helped butcher a schoolgirl, it has been reported.Â
Letby, 33, is said to have become ‘inseparable’ from poisoner Michelle Smith and Shauna Hoare, who was jailed for her part in the murder of Becky Watts, while on remand at HMP Bronzefield.Â
An insider told the Mirror: ‘They were together 24 hours a day – they were a well-known threesome and were literally never apart. Â
‘They’d spend hours sitting on the wing landing playing board games, eating dinner together and tanning in the courtyard.’Â
Letby was locked up at Bronzefield while on remand ahead of her trial and has since been moved to HMP Low Newton in County Durham.Â
Smith was handed a life sentence in 2007 for feeding adult-strength painkillers to her six-week-old daughter Amy.Â
And Hoare was freed last month having served half of a 17-year sentence for manslaughter after helping to kill 16-year-old Becky, whose murder shocked the nation in 2015.Â
Her then boyfriend Nathan Matthews – who was Becky’s step-brother – was jailed for at least 33 years for the sexually motivated plot.Â
Another source added: ‘It’s a good job they’ve been separated. They are the last people you would want associating with each other.’Â

Letby was given a whole life sentence for the murders of seven babies and the attempted murders of six others at the Countess of Chester Hospital’s neonatal unit in 2015 and 2016.Â
However, the jury in her trial at Manchester Crown Court was unable to reach verdicts last month on six counts of attempted murder in relation to five children.Â
She now faces a retrial on one of the outstanding charges – the alleged attempted murder of a baby girl, known as Child K, in February 2016.Â
A provisional trial date of June 10, 2024, at the same court has been fixed, with an estimated length of two to three weeks.Â
