Ex-President Donald Trump’s camp has reportedly revealed what caused the mysterious red marks seen on his hand while he headed to court to face his rape accuser.
Trump had red marks on his thumb, index finger and palm as he waved to cameras on Wednesday morning, sparking speculation online that he had anything from a fall to ‘hand herpes’ to ketchup from a favorite fast food meal.
The former president emerged from his defamation trial brought by columnist E Jean Carroll in New York without the strange marks, igniting more theories on what they were.
Sources close to the Trump campaign apparently have dished out a different story that what most have postulated.

‘We’re told the only thing that was afflicting Trump that day was a simple paper cut, and he accidentally spread the blood around his hand,’ wrote TMZ on Thursday.
‘Yep, that’s what the Trump camp is saying here … just a little nick.’
On Friday, the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Metro.co.uk.
The reported reason from Trump’s camp was different even from the guesses joked about on a fake CNN segment aired by comedian Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.
Fallon said that experts opined the likely causes of Trump’s ‘rash’ were that he grabbed a hotdog straight off the 7-Eleven rollers, that he touched a Bible, or that he got rug burn from holding his eldest son Donald Trump Jr’s leash.

The most likely explanation, Fallon said on Thursday, was that Trump was finger painting the face on his new lawyer, Wilson the Volleyball, from the 2000 film Cast Away.
Meanwhile on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel said that many people noted that the marks were a common symptom of syphilis and then mentioned an old statement Trump made about sexually transmitted diseases.
‘He famously said avoiding STDs was his personal Vietnam, but if he has syphilis that would mean the only Vietnam he avoided was Vietnam,’ Kimmel joked.

‘The good news is either way, Melania will be fine. They haven’t slept in the same bed since, how old is Barron? Seventeen? Yeah she’ll be OK.’
On Thursday morning, Trump attended the funeral of his wife Melania’s mother in Florida and also did not appear to have the hand marks.
Trump himself has not commented on what the marks were.
