A CONVICTED pedophile has been arrested for allegedly turning up to a daycare with an empty stroller and meth and assaulted a guard who told him to leave.
Jason Newton, 45, was taken into custody on Wednesday at a daycare located at a community college in Salt Lake City, Utah.
A security guard on the campus told Newton to leave – but the 45-year-old reportedly said the guard was the one who needed to leave.
When Newton allegedly tried to hit the guard with a four-foot stick, the guard used pepper spray, pushing Newton to leave the campus.
Cops arrested Newton and said they found him in possession of a baby stroller with only methamphetamine hidden inside.
According to KTVX, Newton has been “in and out of prison since 1997” after he was sentenced in a case of aggravated assault.
He was convicted of felony child sex abuse in 2000 and has multiple other charges including failing to register as a sex offender and possession of a weapon by a restricted person.
Newton’s also been charged in “several cases of drug possession, theft, and criminal trespassing.”
In 2014, according to Metro, Newton beat his then-girlfriend’s five-year-old son with a rope after she found out he was a convicted sex offender.
On Wednesday, Newton was booked at the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of assaulting a school employee, failing to register as a sex offender, drug possession, and felony drug possession enhancement.
