IT IS finally here – are you ready for Royal Ascot?
The good news is that, even if you are not, Britain’s top tipster Templegate most certainly is.
He has been locked away poring over the form for weeks in the build up to the royal meeting.

A runaway leader of Britain’s Nap table, our man has proved no one in the land can pick a better main selection of the day.
Read on to find out who he thinks can land the spoils on day one. Good luck!
POETIC FLARE (4.20 Royal Ascot, nap)
Jim Bolger’s ace won the 2,000 Guineas on fast ground and can strike again in similar conditions. He has run well twice since that Classic success in the Irish and French versions. He loves this mile and canny trainer Jim Bolger reports him in rude health ahead of his fifth run of the season.
BATTAASH (3.40 Royal Ascot, nap)
He won this race in style last year and can follow up. Simply put, his best form is miles clear of anything in the field, he likes this trip and the ground will suit. The only worry is the injury he picked up over the winter but connections say he’s back to his old self. His B-game would be enough to land this prize.
FELIX (5.35 Royal Ascot, treble)
He ran a cracker when third behind Lord North in a Dubai Group 1 last time. He was finishing like a train over the 1m1f trip so should appreciate this longer trip. Oisin Murphy just needs to make sure he doesn’t get too far behind.
Templegate has a pick in every race on Tuesday.
2.30 Palace Pier
Different class to these with trip and track ideal.
Gutsy debut win and should take major step forward.
3.40 Battaash (nb)
Won this last year and sets the standard again.
4.20 Poetic Flare (NAP)
The 2,000 Guineas winner who is still on the upgrade.
Has Listed form on level and yard always respected in this.
5.35 Felix (treble)
Went close in a Group 1 on turf in Dubai last time out.
6.10 Dubious Affair
Good form over this trip and goes well when fresh.
1.20 All Clenched Up
Did well in bumpers and should make a nice hurdler.
1.50 Ronde De Nuit
Plenty in hand when winning at Taunton last time.
2.20 Sir Tivo
Good run at Sedgefield last time and more to offer.
Keeps winning and 4lb rise for latest victory seems fair.
3.30 Mackie Dee
Good run at Uttoxeter two starts ago and can bounce back.
Two good efforts heading here and should go close again.
Good second on debut and this longer trip should suit.
Good effort when finishing well over C&D last time out.
2.10 Iconic Belle
On winning run and can strike again off 6lb higher.
Plenty in hand when winning at Wolverhampton latest.
3.20 Midnite Brite
Consistent and another good run at Ayr last time out.
3.55 Trinity Lake
Should find this easier than the hot York race he contested latest.
Good effort when third at Leicester and more to come.
Improving with every run and big chance again.
Good second latest and doesn’t need much more to win.
This looks his easiest chance yet and has a decent draw.
Has perfect record here and will be fit from his comeback.
7.10 Kentucky Kitten
Unlucky last time and handicapped to win this.
7.40 Ava Go Joe
Good second at Musselburgh and should be right there again.
8.10 Point Of Honour
Has shown decent form over this course and distance.
Goes well here and step up in trip should help.
5.45 Big Time Maybe
Plenty in hand when winning over C&D last time out.
6.20 Amber Dew
Keeps going close and looks the one to beat.
6.50 Kendergarten Kop
Loves this track and should be right there under top claimer.
Good effort when winning at Leicester last time out.
Improved effort when second at Lingfield and more to come.
Likes it here and still on decent mark under decent 3lb claimer.
Went close over course and distance last time out.
