Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy, 8, narrating Hair Love audiobook

If you feel pressure on your neck, that’s because Beyonce and Jay Z’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter has just landed her first major job.
At just eight years old, little Blue has narrated the audiobook for Matthew A Cherry’s Oscar-winning film Hair Love.
Cherry casually revealed the exciting news with a short snippet of Blue introducing the audiobook so eloquently, saying: ‘Dreamscape presents Hair Love, by Matthew A. Cherry, narrated by Blue Ivy Carter.’
Hair Love was originally released as a short film in December 2019 and focuses on a Black father getting to grips with doing his daughter’s afro hair for the first time.
The six-minute short was so celebrated that it won the best animated short film at the Oscars in February.
Reacting to Blue’s amazing gig, one fan tweeted: ‘So you just gonna drop a silent flex. a parkwood drop if you will and NOT SAY NOTHING. you BIG BALLIN.’

‘Blue is booked and busy ik that’s right,’ one Twitter user cheered.
Another shocked – yet excited – fan reacted: ‘Narrated by WHO N***A????’
One weighed in: ‘What a full circle moment tho, I remember when haters would make fun of her and look at her now.’

They were referring to the storm of criticism Beyonce received in Blue’s younger years for allowing the youngster to sport her natural afro hair rather than a relaxed or protective style. At one point, there was even a petition titled ‘Comb Blue’s Hair’.
However with the pre-teen’s hair now healthy and long, and with her Hair Love gig, it’s safe to say Blue is definitely having the last laugh.
It’s the first major opportunity Blue’s had without the direct involvement of her famous parents.
She’s featured on Beyonce and Jay Z’s songs since she was a newborn starting with Jay Z’s song Glory which features her baby cries, up until her guest appearance on Beyonce’s track Brown Skin Girl last year.
