OF course all your loved ones want to hear about the heartwarming way your partner popped the question – but after hearing that sweet story, all eyes are on the ring.
After recently getting engaged, one woman thought she’d share the happy news with as many people as possible by making a TikTok.
Members of a ring shaming Facebook group said her diamond was the size of a sesame seed
In the clip, the bride-to-be acknowledged that the ring wasn’t quite what she expected – but joked she would have said yes to a candy “ring pop”.
The unique ring featured two thin gold bands and understated teardrop diamond which has really got people talking.
Proudly showing off her bling, the woman captioned the clip: “Bigger than I wanted.
“But gotta let him flex sometimes.”
However, it wasn’t long before a screenshot of her video was posted on the Facebook group That’s It, I’m Ring Shaming.
And people were amazed that the bride had originally wanted a smaller diamond.
“That thing is the size of a sesame seed,” one replied. “They don’t come any smaller.”
Another added: “This is the ONE time a promise ring would have been better.”
Praising her manicure, a third wrote: “I bet her nails cost more than the ring.”
“I can appreciate a good minimalist ring,” a fourth replied. “This ain’t it though…”
That said, others argued that the woman must have been joking about her fiance “flexing” – i.e. showing off how much money he could spend on the ring.
One confused group member wrote: “That’s a FLEX for him???? Is she joking?”
Rallying around the woman, another replied: “I hope she’s being passive aggressive about how ridiculously small that is.”
