Summer means camping trips, right?

It might for some, but you might still get caught in the rain.

If you do get caught camping in the rain, here are some tips for you.

1. Be prepared – take waterproof clothing, blankets and towels to stay warm and dry.

2. Know what to do in a thunderstorm. They can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing.

3. Know when to pitch your tent. The state of the soil can make a big difference to a sturdy safe tent vs a loose will-fly-away-any-second tent!

The expected rain this weekend might be a thing of the past

The end of the week will likely bring blood rain.

Rain at the end of the week was expected to persist throughout the weekend, but sunshine should follow this weekend.

It may be interspersed with showers, though it will be wetter in the north and west.

Heatwave coming – are you beach ready?

With the weather likely to get close to 30C, make sure you have all the key things for the beach.

An impromptu trip to the beach is always fun, especially if you have kids.

Cash – there might be seaside entertainment

Windy and dry – not great for those with hay fever

Plants and flowers in bloom along with the wind might make life a little tricky.

Hay fever is one of the most common allergens in the UK.

With so many people dealing with it, there are a few things you can do to make sure it doesn’t hinder your life.

Antihistamines are a great option. They act as a barrier so you can walk through and past plants with little reaction. Be careful though – some cause drowsiness so check the packaging first!

Stay in areas without plants and flowers if you can.

Travel on public transport rather than walk or cycle. It’s better for the environment than a private car, and prevents the disruptions caused by pollen!

Northwest and Southeast at polar opposites next week

Moderate winds and scattered showers throughout the day in the northwest.

Fine and dry weather elsewhere, followed by risk of thicker clouds and showers and possible thunder in the south and southwest.

Overall drier conditions as we draw closer to the end of the month, though the weather is expected to remain unsettled.

Tomorrow is likely to be warm too

The southeast is expected to have another day of warm weather.

It won’t be quite as warm as today, though.

The rain across Scotland is expected to clear as well, though the north west of the UK will likely be cloudy with strong winds and intermittent rain.

Thunderstorms might be back again tomorrow evening for the south east.

Tonight’s weather not so different from the day

North and West to have more rain and wind.

It should clear for a period before more showers return to the north west a little later.

Thunder is expected to follow the sweltering weather in the south east.

It will then clear to make way for clear skies.

Ready to roast in the South?

Previously expected to be 23C, then 26C, today might reach up to 28C.

The Southeast will experience sunshine and very warm temperatures throughout today.

Rain and cloud are expected in Northern Ireland though. The rain and cloud will likely get heavier and more widespread across the west as the day draws on.

A weather summary for this evening reads: “Wet, windy weather in parts of the north and west clearing although further showery rain into northwestern areas later.

“Thundery showers cross some southeastern areas at first.”

“Clearer skies otherwise,” it adds.

Tuesday morning ‘fine for most’

It’s a pleasant morning for most parts of the UK.

The Met Office said: “Tuesday morning will be fine for most of us with temperatures quickly rising in the strong May sunshine

“Cool and grey in parts of NE Scotland and outbreaks of rain in some western areas.”

Today could be the warmest day of the year so far

The Met Office says today will be the warmest day of the year so far.

South-east England and East Anglia will see the best of the weather with temperatures possibly hitting 28C, way higher than the current high this year of 23.6C.

Most areas will see a hot, dry, sunny day and temperatures in Scotland could reach 20C.

Only the western fringes of Wales, Scotland and England will see cooler temperatures and possibly some heavy showers at times.

Rain one moment, sun the next, what is going on in the UK?

One moment it’s boiling hot, then pouring with rain. Spring and summer are battling it out as the rain can’t seem to stop.

Brits took to Twitter to moan about the perplexing conditions.

One Twitter user wrote: the weather in the uk is actually a joke why cant it just be WARM i don’t want rain anymore.”

Another wrote: “UK weather you’re messing with my mind.”

In pictures: Sunny Saturday as beach goers make the most of the weather

Dorset was flocked with people all with the same idea: sunning themselves on the beach.

Plenty of people splashed around in the sea and lazed about on the sand, as the sun beat down over the UK.

Temperatures rose to highs of 24C, with little cloud cover and a low breeze sweeping across the coastline on Saturday 14 May.

Some even headed out on paddle boards, enjoying the choppy waves and taking in the gorgeous coastal views.

Met Office supercomputer predicts the UK is in for a hot one

Summer is finally turning up for the UK and Brits are here for it.

From May till August temperatures are thought to be hotter than the average for this time of year, according to the Met Office.

The forecast predicts that there is a 60 to 80 per cent chance temperatures will soar to 27C in the next two weeks.

UK saw incredible lightening scenes in the early hours of Monday morning

The UK was dazzled by a thunderstorm which rumbled over the nation at around 3am.

Brits took amazing snaps of the storm, and posted them on Twitter to show off the dramatic scenes.

The storm was pictured over the sea at Lee-on-the-Solent, which forks down to the ocean.

Brit’s put their brollies up in rainy scenes

Windsor was very rainy yesterday, and crowds braved the cold sheet of rain as they headed out to the town.

Despite highs of 22C, the weather was still chilly yesterday and cold raindrops fell from the skies.

Brits didn’t let this ruin their weekend as they headed out to make the most of their Sunday 15 May.

Windsor was busy due to the Royal Horse Show which saw around 1,300 people attend.

Wind and rain battered the UK overnight as thunder rumbled overhead and lightening forked across the sky.

The UK was in for a spooky night on 14 May as rain and wind coursed across the nation.

Brits were flagged a yellow storm alert ahead of the looming heatwave. The UK may even see highs of 27C next week.

While warm weather is on the horizon it looks as though it won’t come without the odd storm here and there.

UK weather outlook for Monday and Tuesday

Monday will dull and damp with cloudy skies and heavy rain or showers tracking northwards which will clear to reveal sunny spells and just a few isolated showers later.

There will be sunny spells on Tuesday however variable amounts of cloud will build and outbreaks of rain will spread into the west.
