She acted as Tom Hanks’s girlfriend in the 1984 comedy Bachelor Party.
Tawny appeared in the Here I Go Again video. She also appeared in Whitesnake’s Is This Love?
She died on Friday, May 7, says TMZ. The coroner has yet to determine the cause of death.
Tawny’s celeb career was launched back in 1976, on ‘To Tell the Truth’ – a game show.
She then acted in various movies, achieving “success with her roles, especially Bachelor Party”, says TMZ.
But, it adds, while her career was hitting the high notes, her personal life was ‘rocky’.

Her marriage to Whitesnake’s lead singer, David Coverdale, for example, ended after just two years.
Tawny had two daughters with her second husband, baseball star Chuck Finley, whom she wed in 1997.
TMZ says that she entered a domestic violence counselling programme as part of a plea deal after Chuck alleged that she kicked him in the face with her high heels.
He filed for divorce as a result of their ‘disastrous’ union, the website explains, with the marriage officially ending in 2002.
Variety describes Tawny as an “’80s music video vixen and Bachelor Party Star”.

The San Diego born woman graced the cover of albums by heavy metal band RATT, including Out of the Cellar, in 1984.
She “appeared in RATT’s Back for More music video and later became the video vixen best known for her appearance in Whitesnake’s 1987 smash Here I Go Again, where she displayed her talent for auto acrobatics,” Variety adds.
Her entertainment career saw her act in the likes of Witchboard, White Hot, Dead Tides and in a Seinfeld episode, The One With The Nose Job.
Tawny also appeared in reality TV shows, such as The Surreal Life, Botched and VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew.
It was while on Celebrity Rehab that Tawny revealed her “long struggle with substance abuse, and run-ins with the law, including a charge for cocaine possession in 2006 and driving under the influence in 2009,” Variety reports.
American model and actress Carrie Stevens tweeted: “Let her family give the official statement. They deserve that respect. RIP to a legend.”
The last time Tawny tweeted was on Friday, May 7, to thank a fan for a drawing.
She said: “Thank you my darling, thank you so much for your picture you drew of me.”
