STRICTLY Come Dancing’s JJ Chalmers is battling an agonising leg infection – but has vowed to waltz through the pain barrier.
The 33-year-old – who was injured in a bomb blast while serving in Afghanistan in 2011 – has a piece of shrapnel embedded in his leg.

This wound has become infected while practising the Viennese Waltz, but he is determined to dance this weekend.
“Whilst there’s a level of pain and sensitivity with it, it’s not anything I’m not used to.
“Until it gets to, you know, an unbearable point or a really discomforting point, I’m not going to allow it to stop me doing what I love doing.

He will be wearing a kilt this weekend
“And right now that’s dancing. But on the flip side, it might seem quite alarming to people that I’ve done most of this competition with an infection in my leg, but that’s just the reality of what happens with this particular piece of shrapnel until they remove it.”
The Scottish ex-Royal Marines Commando will be performing in a kilt this weekend – but bosses were forced make an edit.
He revealed that he had his shirt sewn into his pants to prevent millions from seeing his todger on live TV.
Bosses feared he could flop out of his undies — or wouldn’t even be wearing any.
JJ is second favourite to leave after Jamie Laing
JJ revealed: “A lot of people are asking if I’m going to be a true Scotsman or if I’m going to be going commando — which I’m entitled to both I suppose!
“Wardrobe have sewn underwear into the bottom of my shirt.”
The TV presenter paired with pro Amy Dowden, 30, said it was like something his young son James would wear.
