“Groom criticized for daring wedding vows, yet embraced by the bride”

‘Nothing’s better than the sound of gagging and the headboard slamming.’

No, those aren’t the words from a saucy sexting session, but rather the wedding vows that Michael Lentini chose to say to his bride on their big day.

In front of the couple’s nearest and dearest, he continued: ‘Keep my belly full and my balls empty.

‘Though you’re amazing at half of it, we really need to get you some cooking lessons.’

It got a little more romantic at one point, with Michael adding: ‘There is no one I could ever love more in this lifetime, unless I actually got a chance to meet Margot Robbie’.

But he finished off his vows by saying: ‘You can choose whether tonight’s going to end with being a Toaster Strudel or a Twinkie.’

In case you’re not up to speed with the lingo, a Toaster Strudel refers to pulling out during sex, and a Twinkie means climaxing inside.

After the couple’s wedding photographer shared a video of his vows on TikTok, Michael’s specific brand on poetry went viral – and viewers weren’t happy with his choice of words.

One user wrote: ‘I would be mortified if this was all said in front of our families.’

Another commented: ‘Listen it’s funny I get it but WEDDING VOWS?! In front of your MOTHER?! How would this not make the relationship between mil and dil so damn awkward?!’

One woman wrote: ‘I’m not even kidding I would have walked away from that altar.’

His mother, also the officiant, even shouted at the groom post vows, saying: ‘Michael…I will deal with him later. He’s grounded.’

But the one person that disagreed with the criticism was the person that mattered the most – the bride.

In the video, it was clear that Destiny’s was enjoying her vows, smiling and laughing through the whole thing.

She even commented under the video after the backlash, saying: ‘So I’m the bride and no this isn’t a red flag. We have been together for 10 years now and decided to get married right before our 10th year.’

She even took to TikTok with her own video to set the record straight: ‘Yes I’m happy. Yes, I’m still married. Yes, I love my wedding and there is nothing that I would have changed.

‘I loved his vows. I loved my vows. I loved our wedding day. His vows showed a piece of his personality, which is the humour side, which is definitely Michael.

‘My vows showed my side, a little bit of my personality which is not outspoken like Michael. Very two opposites and yet we go together so damn well.’

Destiny also gave a brief history of their romance.

She said: ‘I have known him since 2010. This is how he was. We started dating in 2013, so I knew what I was getting myself into when we started dating and before we got married, considering we’ve been together 10 years now.

She also had some stern words for those criticising her marriage.

‘I’ve seen people say we have a toxic relationship and that we aren’t going to last, and this and that. And honestly you can say what you want.

‘I know you’re wrong because I know my relationship and I know myself and I know my goal.

‘I’m sorry if you’re just not that happy with your life. My life is very eventful all the time, there’s never a dull moment in my relationship.

‘I’m sorry if you don’t have the same and if you don’t want the same, good for you. Go and find someone who you think you deserve or deserves you.

‘Michael is too good for me. I said that then, when I met him, I say that now, and I will say that till the day I die because like I said you guys don’t truly know him so you don’t understand why or where I’m coming from when I say that.

‘The haters are going to hate, and the people who actually thought they were hilarious – thank you. I’m glad you actually get us because a lot of people do not and it is what it is.

‘That’s a good way of getting out the people we definitely never want to be friends with because me and them will not mix.’
