Taylor Donoghuee said she was glad people are now talking about ‘boyfriend air’.
She said: “I was truly shook to see other people also related to this.”
Taylor said: “I am so happy people are now talking about boyfriend air because I actually thought I was going crazy for spend a lot of time this past summer at my boyfriend’s apartment in New York.”
Taylor said even after maintaining proper hygiene she couldn’t stop feeling dirty.

“And I remember taking a full body shower and the next morning waking up and being like, I feel so dirty.”
She said her hair was greasy and her skin was different.
“My hair was getting greasy like crazy, my skin was looking different, like everything. My makeup wasn’t staying on right. I was like, what is going on?”
Taylor said she constantly needed to reapply deodorant because she smelt bad.
“Felt like I was reapplying deodorant all the time. I was like, maybe I’m going crazy. Like, maybe it’s the New York water. I’m not used to it.”
Originally Taylor thought the issue was caused by the fact that her body wasn’t used to New York, then someone on TikTok enlightened her.
“And then a few months ago I start seeing all these TikToks about boyfriend air. Totally get it and can see why now. Like, it just makes sense.”
Taylor said the theory must be correct because when her boyfriend comes to her house she feels fine.
“And I know it’s a thing because it was only in his apartment that I would feel this way. When he’d come to me, it was fine.”
The beauty fan concluded the issue was not New York but in face her ‘boyfriends air’.
“I was like, oh, maybe it’s because I’m like walking in New York more. It’s summertime. No, it was boyfriend air.”
Taylors video went viral with over 5.5 million views and many viewers said they believed in ‘boyfriend air’.
One user said: “Feel like it’s because of the hormones our bodies release when we’re around someone we’re romantically & sexually attracted to.”
Another said: “Boyfriends are the real pandemic.”
