23-Year-Old Open to Matchmaking Despite Critics

A 23-YEAR-OLD woman, who is trapped in the body of an eight-year-old, has opened up about her dating life and how tough it is for her to find lasting love.

Shauna Rae, who lives in Pennsylvania, stands at just 3 feet 10 inches tall and weighs just over three-and-a-half stone.

Shauna, whose growth was stunted after she had brain cancer treatment as a child, has always been candid about her love life and any potential partners. 

In fact, she’s allowed the cameras to capture her going on dates, as part of her ongoing TLC reality show, I Am Shauna Rae. 

But – as viewers have seen – it’s not worked out for her as of yet, and she’s even seen past partners blasted for going out with her due to her ‘childlike’ appearance. 

However, Shauna has insisted that she’s not letting her critics get her down, and that she still believes in love and is open to matchmaking.

In the most recent episode of I Am Shauna Rae, Shauna was seen preparing to go on a new blind date.

As she got ready, she confessed that she had a “bunch of worries”.

And one of them sadly came true when the date got cold feet and was a no-show. 

Shauna explained to viewers: “I was relieved when he cancelled. 

“It just kind of showed all of these characteristics I don’t want in a person in my life.”

Instead, Shauna and her family enjoyed a game of bowling, and she said she was trying to see the silver lining.

The reality star continued: “Even though it was supposed to be a date, I probably enjoyed it better this way with my family than I would with a complete stranger.

“I’m still open to the matchmaking situation, it really depends on if the second guy cancels.”

This comes after TLC documented her most recent relationship with 26-year-old Dan Swygart.

The pair went on several dates in front of the cameras and were getting along well, but unfortunately the romance ended up being short lived.  

Welshman Dan was branded a “creep” and accused him of being attracted to Shauna because she “looked like a kid.”

Facing the trolls head on, Dan hit back saying that he couldn’t believe what they were saying, but that, ultimately, he and Shauna had decided to just be friends.

In a video posted to his Instagram account, Dan said: “Me and Shauna are just good friends, we’re getting to know each other.

“But I think it’s absolutely disgusting, the attitude of some people. She’s been through so much in life. 

“She survived cancer as a child, she’s always felt different and was treated different by society. 

“How dare you take away her right to have a connection, a friendship, a relationship with someone else?

“Who are you to say that she can’t have that? I am absolutely disgusted by some people’s attitudes towards her and my friendship with her.”
