A viral TikTok pattern for pouring tinned beans on folks’s doorsteps has led a British police pressure to challenge a warning to shopkeepers to watch out for younger folks buying massive quantities of beans, according to the local news outlet Manchester Evening News.
The pattern, which creators have unofficially dubbed “beaning,” is marked on the video-sharing platform with hashtags like #beanbandits, #getbeaned, and #beanattack. Throughout all the assorted hashtags, the pattern has amassed tens of millions of views and a whole lot of hundreds of likes.
It dates again to a minimum of April, when a TikTok account referred to as The Bean Bandits posted a video that confirmed folks pouring a number of tins of Goya beans on a doorstep. In on-screen textual content, the account wrote, “We beaned someones [sic] front door.”

Different creators on TikTok seem to have began beaning in September, together with the account @bubblebeanbandits, which posted a video on Wednesday that has already been seen over 10,000 instances.
