MANCHESTER UNITED could appoint their new manager THIS season, according to reports.
Ralf Rangnick is currently in temporary charge at Old Trafford, with a successor expected to be named during the summer.
But reports in the MEN suggest that there have been developments in United’s process to settle on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s full-time replacement.
Mauricio Pochettino – currently manager of PSG – and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag remain the frontrunners.

Manchester United could appoint their next manager before the end of the season.
That is according to the Manchester Evening News, who report that there have been developments in United’s process to settle on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s full-time replacement.
The Red Devils could secure an agreement well in advance of the summer transfer window.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag remain the frontrunners, while Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers remains under consideration

Manchester United must move fast to make Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino their new manager as other top clubs are reportedly expressing interest.
According to The Telegraph, Pochettino has been made aware he will attract interest from more rival teams at the end of the season.
But the Argentine has been open about his love for managing in the Prem, following stints at Southampton and Tottenham.
And United are expected to make contact with the 49-year-old head coach at some stage

Dembele January hunt
Chelsea have joined the transfer war for Barcelona contract rebel and Manchester United target Ousmane Dembele.
The Blues are facing competition from Juventus as well as United during the January transfer window.
According to Sport, the Red Devils and Juve have been in ‘especially intense’ contact with Dembele’s representatives since 2021.
And the report even adds a suggestion that the striker may have already signed a pre-contract agreement with one of those two clubs.
The report also adds the west Londoners have been in touch with the France international this January over a potential offer
