Restaurants reopen with indoor dining sections next week and Nando’s has really pushed the boat out to celebrate.
The popular chicken chain has launched some new menu items – to get everybody in the mood for eating out again.
Plant-based and veggie sides, alternative burger and pitta recipes and some Southern African wines are among the new additions to look forward to.
As of yesterday, May 11, the new items are available for delivery and takeaway and will be on offer in restaurants from May 17.
But perhaps the biggest switch up to the menu is the arrival of the garlic BBQ spice on the PERi-ometer – which sits between plain and lemon and herb.
Nando’s promises this new flavour will give a kick of sweet and smoky garlic to your meal.

Burger fans can also enjoy brand-new PERi ketchup and lemon and herb mayo alongside lettuce and tomato, while pitta lovers can feast on lemon and herb mayo and crunchy slaw in a tangy mustard dressing.
Vegans and veggies can also order the new rainbow bowl and a crunchy quinoa and feta salad – they will also have the option to add new Nando’s PERi-plant strips to a salad, for an extra bit of protein.

But food isn’t the only thing getting a post-lockdown shake up.
Four new Southern African wines have also been added to the menu in selected restaurants, including South African Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and a fruity rosé – all from the Spier vineyard in Cape Town.
If you’re looking for more foodie things to get excited about over the coming weeks, Wendy’s is due to be opening its doors on June 2 in Reading.
The popular American chain is returning after a 20-year absence, with fan favourties such as the Frosty thick shakes and Dave’s Single Burger.
