Easter Colin the Caterpillar is back (Picture: M&S)
The one thing we can all agree on? Colin the Caterpillar is our favourite childhood cake.
With Easter around the corner, M&S has launched a limited edition version of the much-love chocolatey cake that’s available in stores from today.
Last year’s limited-edition variety saw some controversy as Colin – dressed in a bunny outfit – was compared to Donnie Darko, in a much creeper Easter twist than expected.
Fear not, there’s nothing mildly disturbing about this year’s edition.
With M&S saying that Colin has ‘put on his finery and scrubbed up for this year’s Spring celebrations’, the fun design for 2021 sees the caterpillar dressed in a pink top hair with colourful egg decorations on top.
Think of it like the Colin you know and love, but grown up and ready for a fancy occasion.
The full-size cake is £10, but M&S have come out with a mini version too that’s sold in a pack of five for £2.25.

And if you really want to go all out, there’s the Colin the Caterpillar Milk Chocolate Easter Egg, which is £5 and comes with a bag of white mini Colin faces – the bit that everyone fights over on a full-size Colin cake.
Already the image of Easter Colin – posted to M&S’ Instagram account three hours ago – has over 7,000 likes.
One fan wrote: ‘Looking fabulous Colin’, and another said: ‘Doesn’t he look amazing!!’
Someone else, also loving Colin’s new look, added: ‘I told you Colin was versatile… perfect for any occasion.’
Another said: ‘We NEED this for our picnic’ another wrote while hundreds have commented tagging loved ones requesting they pick up the coveted cake.’
Remember this version of Colin won’t be around for long – and people are really appreciating his dapper look.
It’s just the light and non-serious launch we needed to see this week.
Who said Colin wasn’t a perfectly suitable cake for adults?
