ONE woman was slammed for wanted to take a sandwich to a wedding after worrying she’d starve due to the timing of the day’s meals.
The person posted on Mumsnet seeking opinions and input on whether or not she should bring her own food to the wedding.
One woman wondered if she’d go hungry at a wedding
“Wedding breakfast [the reception meal] is at 4:30pm.
“Evening food will be wedding cake and some cheese.
“AIBU [Am I being unreasonable] to think I am going to have to bring along a sandwich and some late night snacks?”
The responses varied dramatically, with some showing support for the woman’s idea.
“Always wise to take snacks!,” one user wrote.
“I’d be going prepared,” another chimed in.
“I think it’s always wise to have some type of emergency snack stashed in your bag. It’s just common sense. You may not need it, but you’ll be prepared if you do,” wrote another poster.
One user asked the original poster how much they’re used to eating at night.
“Not cheese or cake – that’s not a meal, it’s something to give you indigestion at 2am,” the original poster wrote back.
Some users weren’t as kind.
“How ridiculously dramatic,” one user started.
“You’ll be eating from what, 4.30 to approx 6? A full dinner I’m assuming. You’ll eat beforehand around 1ish, and have your breakfast as normal in the morning. They’re providing cheese etc plus cake as an evening snack.
“How much more food do you need? And why is it such a big deal to you that you felt the need to dramatically moan about it. Stick a protein bar in your bag if the concern is you’ll pass out from the extreme hunger they’re forcing you to experience….”
Other users also chimed in to tell the woman she was, in fact, being unreasonable and there was no reason to believe she’d be hungry.
