What Does CBD Feel Like? The Complete Beginner’s Guide

CBD has skyrocketed in popularity in the last few years. It is well-known for its many restorative and therapeutic properties such as reducing anxiety, relieving pain, and even helping treat seizures.

But there are a lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings about CBD as well. Some people believe it produces a “high” like regular marijuana, while others believe it to be a placebo.

The truth is, CBD is neither of these things. If you’ve been wondering “what does CBD feel like?” we’ve put together a guide on what you can expect from taking CBD. Read on for more!

What Is CBD?

CBD is shorthand for cannabidiol, which is one of the many cannabinoids found in the marijuana plant. A majority of these cannabinoids interact directly with neurons in our brain called “endocannabinoid receptors.”

Like its notorious partner THC, which produces the classic “high” effect associated with marijuana, CBD activates our brains to create an astounding array of effects that we feel in our bodies.

CBD comes in many commercially-available forms including e-juice, flower, edibles, oils and tinctures, and more.

Isolate vs. Full Spectrum

The two most common ways that CBD is marketed is as “isolate” or “full spectrum.” These differences can be confusing, so let’s dive in.

Isolate is pure CBD, with no other cannabinoids or chemicals. CBD isolate is quite difficult to manufacture, because extracting it in large quantities generally requires specialized equipment.

CBD isolate is well-suited for people who want to avoid any THC, as even legal CBD can contain trace amounts of THC.

Isolate is also great for anyone looking to experience the benefits of just CBD, without some of the other effects of other cannabinoids. If you are interested in bulk CBD, check out these CBD isolate wholesale prices.

Full-spectrum CBD includes other cannabinoids. These cannabinoids include CBG, Delta-9, THCA, and many others. Full-spectrum is much closer to the original plant’s chemical makeup, but is usually much lower in THC content.

At the federal level in the United States, THC is allowed in quantities up to .3 percent. Studies have shown that CBD is actually more effective when combined with THC, even in small amounts.

And CBD is also stronger when combined with the other cannabinoids. This is due to something called the “entourage effect”.

The entourage effect is created when all of the cannabinoids in the marijuana plant are consumed together. Each cannabinoid acts on your endocannabinoid system in a different way.

Some cannabinoids “unlock” the endocannabinoid receptors, allowing for others to have much stronger effects. Others cancel out the negative effects, like how CBD reduces the anxiety often felt with THC.

Full-spectrum CBD is an option for people who don’t have to worry about consuming small amounts of THC, or who want a much stronger experience.

What Does CBD Feel Like?

With or without the entourage effect, CBD consistently shows that it can produce a variety of benefits. But there are lingering misconceptions about what it can do and what its effects feel like.

First off, let’s get it out of the way: CBD does not make you high. THC is the chemical in marijuana that is known to produce the stoned effect. CBD does not have any intoxicating properties.

If you are wanting a hint of the traditional high, look into a high-THC full-spectrum product. CBD isolate contains zero THC, and as such, will produce pure CBD effects only.

CBD For Pain Management

One of the most well-known benefits of CBD is its effectiveness in pain management. Marijuana has long been known as a good treatment for various types of chronic and acute pain, and this is largely due to the presence of CBD.

CBD actually provides anti-inflammatory relief for ailments such as arthritis, osteoporosis, and general inflammation. It can even help with eczema and other skin conditions!

Another pain management plus for CBD is that it comes in a variety of ways to consume it. If you are not a fan of the slow-release edibles, or don’t want to vaporize it, you can try a CBD salve to apply directly to your aching muscles or joints.

CBD and Mental Health

CBD is also very well-known for its positive effects on people’s moods and mental health. CBD has shown its effectiveness in managing anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

CBD is also great for improving overall mental well-being, as many users report just feeling better overall after beginning a CBD regimen. It helps to reduce stress and improve sleep, which obviously helps anyone’s overall outlook.

For people who suffer from a lack of focus, CBD is also known to help increase focus and concentration on tasks. This can be extremely beneficial to people who struggle with ADHD symptoms, or even just the post-lunch haze at work.

How CBD Feels

Many people report that taking CBD makes them feel much more relaxed. It is described as a “from the neck down” feeling, with a release of tension in the muscles.

Many also say that upon taking CBD, they feel like their stress and anxiety has evaporated, leaving their head feeling clear and at peace. After taking CBD, people often say that their sleep quality is excellent with no drowsiness in the morning.

Others say that CBD has increased their appetite and reduced nausea. This is a well-known effect of the marijuana plant in general, and it seems like CBD is the culprit. CBD is a preferred treatment of many cancer patients for this reason.

Is CBD Right For Me?

Only you and your doctor can really determine the answer to this question. CBD is safe and effective for most people, but err on the safe side if you have any pre-existing conditions or take medications.

If you are looking to improve your overall quality of life, manage pain, or reduce your mental load, CBD might be an excellent option to add to your treatment regimen. Hopefully this guide answered the question “what does CBD feel like?”
