Speaking to My Local Toolbox of her interior style, Kerry describes it as “bold and fun” she adds “I suppose there isn’t really a style I stick to, as I just kind of go with how I feel at the moment.
“I wanted the hallway to be an interesting space to walk through and be something that brings a smile to my face.
“I wanted it to make an instant impact.”
With just £116 Kerry completely transformed her staircase. She spent £60 on paint, £20 on the gold leaf and £20 for the gold leaf glue. She spent an addital £16 on varnishes to seal the stairs.
She said “I find pink one of the happiest colours so I knew I needed pink somewhere in the home, when thinking about what I wanted the hallway to do, it made perfect sense to paint it pink.
“Due to the stairs being such a high traffic area I didn’t want to use carpet again so decided to paint the stairs the same pink as the walls, which really made the whole area pop.
“For extra impact I used imitation gold leaf on the stair risers.”
When it comes to decorating on a budget, Kerry is a fan of upcycling to give an old piece a new lease of life, she upcycled a shoe cabinet with some leftover vinyl and black paint to uPdate and fit her new colour scheme.
Kerrys’ top decorating advice would be “When it comes to colour is to just go for it, you won’t be disappointed, a house should be a home.
“Now I’m addicted to creating bold, interesting rooms.”
