Daniel Craig said Sir Sean Connery had “wit and charm in mega watts” and hopes “wherever he is there’s a golf course” as he pays tribute to the late star.
The Scottish actor was confirmed to have passed away this morning aged 90.

He landed his first role as 007 in 1962’s ‘Dr. No’, which propelled him to international stardom.
Daniel Craig lead the tributes for Sean Connery today, praising his “wit and charm”.
In a statement to The Sun Online the No Time To Die star said: “It is with such sadness that I heard of the passing of one of the true greats of cinema.
Sir Sean Connery will be remembered as Bond and so much more.
“He defined an era and a style. The wit and charm he portrayed on screen could be measured in mega watts; he helped create the modern blockbuster. He will continue to influence actors and film-makers alike for years to come.
“My thoughts are with his family and loved ones. Wherever he is, I hope there is a golf course.”
Hollywood superstar Hugh Jackman shared a photo of the iconic actor posing as James Bond.
He wrote in his tribute: “I grew up idolizing #SeanConnery. A legend on screen, and off. Rest In Peace.”
Sharing an iconic snap of the legendary actor, Michelle wrote on Instagram: “The best Bond there ever was.
“Rest in peace Sean Connery.”
Piers said: “RIP Sir Sean Connery, 90. The first James Bond. The best James Bond. What sad news.”
Gary Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Shaken and, on this occasion, stirred to hear that Sir Sean Connery has passed away.
