Dancing On Ice fans defend Bez and claim show’s female cast ‘are getting an easy run’
DANCING On Ice fans have defended Bez and insisted that the show’s female cast “are getting an easy run”.
The Happy Mondays star, 57, came under fire tonight after he survived another week as Love Island star Liberty Poole, 22, was voted off.

ITV viewers have supported the DJ after some fans claimed that he was the weakest in the competition and should have gone instead.
However, Bez’s fans took to Twitter to praise him for skating on his own while some of the female contestants get “carried” by their professional partners.
One fan wrote: “Hopefully some of those female celebrities will actually be Dancing on Ice and not be carried around by partners. #DancingonIce”
Another posted: “I agree with you regarding some of the female celebs being carried around, they are definitely not Dancing on Ice.”
A third commented: “I’d like to see the female skaters with their skates in contact with the ice rather than being carried around, they’re getting an easy run. I’d rather see Bez go through.”
“Bez is entertaining and it is an entertainment show. At least he is trying to skate on his own. Sally hasn’t attempted anything on her own, being carried around by a professional is not entertaining or skating. She needs to go,” another tweeted.
Someone else added: “I do think the scoring is unfair. Great skaters get perhaps one extra mark than those who cannot even let go of the pro – and spend most of the time being carried round. Sally had her feet together while Matt dragger her round – and still got 6.5’s.”
ITV viewers were disappointed to see the Birmingham reality star Liberty eliminated tonight.
The reality star, who was partnered with professional skater Joe Johnson, suffered a tumble but quickly picked herself back up and carried on with her performance to Flo Rida’s Right Round.
One unhappy fan wrote: “This is a fix…Bez should have gone. It’s not funny anymore. #DancingonIce”
Another posted: “Neither Liberty or Ky should have been in the skate off. #DancingonIce”
“This is so unfair! Liberty should have been saved. There are worse people in the competition. #DancingonIce,” a third tweeted.
During the performance, Liberty became unsteady on her skates and took a tumble.
The gutted star explained that this was the first time it had gone wrong and was unable to finish the “corkscrew” move.
Despite getting into a tangle, Liberty got her balance back and the judges marked her an impressive score of 28 out of 40.
Last week, S Club legend Rachel Stevens, 43, left the competition after an intense skate-off against BMX Olympian Kye Whyte, 22.
Despite the pair landing themselves in the bottom two, it was actually Bez who landed himself at the bottom of the leaderboard.
The Happy Mondays star scored just 20 out of 40 after his performance to I’m On My Way with pro skater Angela Egan.
Meanwhile the other two bagged higher scores than him – Rachel was given 24 points for her dance to If I Ain’t Got You, and Kye scored 30 out of 40 for his performance to Rasputin.
After Rachel was booted off the ITV competition, many took to Twitter to call the programme a “fix”.
One wrote: “How is Bez keep getting saved on #DancingOnIce complete fix as he’s absolutely terrible and not even entertaining to watch!”
A second added: “#DancingOnIce why is Bez still skating. He should have gone gone ages ago. He’s crap. Looks to me it’s a fix.”
