PRESIDENT Joe Biden has scrapped Donald Trump’s “Diet Coke button” from the Oval Office desk that allowed him to summon a butler to bring him iced soda.
The legendary button – reportedly used by past presidents for other needs – was not seen in photographs inside the White House Oval Office on Thursday.

Tom Newton Dunn, a political commentator at Times Radio, took to Twitter on Thursday morning to share the news.
Dunn tweeted: “President Biden has removed the Diet Coke button.
“When @ShippersUnbound and I interviewed Donald Trump in 2019, we became fascinated by what the little red button did.
“Eventually Trump pressed it, and a butler swiftly brought in a Diet Coke on a silver platter. It’s gone now.”

Some close to him claimed the former president downs 12 cans of the fizzy, no-calorie drink every day.
When a reporter with the Financial Times first noticed the unique device atop Trump’s desk in 2017, he questioned what purpose it served.
Recalling the seemingly comical incident, the journalist wrote: “Sitting across from Donald Trump in the Oval Office, my eyes are drawn to a little red button on a box that sits on his desk.”
“‘This isn’t the nuclear button, is it?'” he asked the president.
He revealed Trump’s answer was: “No, no, everyone thinks it is. Everyone does get a little nervous when I press that button.”

As Trump neared 100 days of presidency, The Associated Press dubbed the 45th president of the United States as being “accustomed to wealth and its trappings.”
The news outlet explained: “Trump has embraced life in the Executive Mansion, often regaling guests with trivia about the historic decor.
“With the push of a red button placed on the Resolute Desk that presidents have used for decades, a White House butler soon arrived with a Coke for the president.”
As news of the Diet Coke button spread, comedian Stephen Colbert joked that the president was “turning the Oval Office into an eight-year-old’s drawing of a dream treehouse.”

Meanwhile, Trump spent the final moments of his presidency at his Palm Beach estate Mar-a-Lago, which will be his new home.
Despite, Trump’s change in address, one can only assume the 74-year-old Republican will carry on with his apparent love for Diet Coke.
