A Place in the Sun’s property expert Danni Menzies had her work cut out for her when the house hunters she was assisting rejected a property outright.
In the latest episode, Tracy and Paul were searching around the villages of Lake Vinuela in southern Spain for their dream home. With a budget of £150,000, the couple wanted a 3-bedroom villa with a pool that their whole family could enjoy.
An A Place in the Sun couple did a major U-turn on a property when they realised it as missing a key feature
The home had gorgeous views and a pool
One property featured on the Channel 4 show seemed like it would be ideal for them, but when they found out there was no dining room space, it was off the cards.
Danni began the couple’s search in the stunning area of Periana. Set high up in the hills, the charming village had plenty of bars and restaurants.
Paul and Tracy were wowed by the pool and huge garden, although Tracy said she didn’t enjoy the steep hill leading to the front door.
Valued at £150,862, the house had four bedrooms – with one currently used as a dining room – and a bathroom.
“There isn’t a dining room,” Tracy pointed out to Paul, adding that they would need one.
Speaking to Danni later, she explained: “There wasn’t a dining area, which is really important to us because as a family we sit down and have dinner every night.
“And I can’t see how we would make that work in this property.”
Thankfully, both Paul and Tracy instantly fell in love with property three, a three-bed villa located on the popular development of Cortijo Romero in the small village of Puente Don Manuel.
“This is perfect,” Paul said, and the relief in Danni’s eyes was clear to see.
The home had an elevated position and a large terrace with a rooftop solarium with incredible countryside views, plus a private pool.
Valued at £146,551, the couple initially made an offer of £140,000, which was rejected. But a second offer of £142,000 was swiftly accepted.
However, the couple couldn’t get past the fact it didn’t have a dining room
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4.
