If you’re growing tired of traditional brunch options like sourdough, avocado and eggs, a brand new opening should be on your radar.
A new event is landing in London – with a cockney twist.
Foodies will be able to tuck into a pie and mash brunch on Sunday 12 September and then again on Sunday 14 November.
London’s Electric Ballroom is set to host the events, which will run from 12pm-5pm on both days.
East London shop Robins is behind the grub, with 100% Scottish beef, veggie and vegan pies.
Each £30 ticket includes pie, mash and plenty of gravy to wash it down with – alongside bottomless Sex on Southend Beach cocktails for 60 minutes.
What’s more, there will be entertainment from DJ Cockney Kev and a Chas ’n’ Dave tribute band, as well as a Pearly King and Queen roaming the tables.
In true cockney style, guests can also take part in a jellied eels eating contest – with a month’s supply of the unusual dish for the winner.
If that’s not your cup of tea, the brunch event is set to have a ‘Knees Up Mother Brown’ dance-off competition, a mini car boot sale and a photo booth on offer.
So there will be plenty to get stuck into.
The only thing that’s left to do is to brush up on your rhyming slang.
Elsewhere in London, a batman-inspired dining experience is opening in Soho this August – so comic lovers can get their very own taste of Gotham City.
Likewise, a food festival is running in east London in a few weeks from the team at Street Feast, with a whole host of independent vendors and artists on the line-up.
Also don’t forget to check out the list of 20 Michelin star restaurants across the UK where a meal costs under £30.
