It seems the list of resale websites is growing exponentially.
While this is fantastic help in the effort to curb the world’s fast fashion obsession, it can be a confusing spectrum for those looking to sell their garments.
What do you charge? How do you market your items?
And how do you become successful at it?
It may sound panic inducing but selling your clothing online is a great way to do a clear out of your wardrobe without the guilt.
All the while, you can make some extra cash too.
So where do we start?
Well, now self-proclaimed ‘Queen of Vinted’ Emma Sendall, has taken to TikTok to help your clothes sell quickly and easily.
The online seller was open with her followers and they were seriously impressed.
One wrote: ‘Your tips have helped me out so much. Thank you!’
Now it’s time to get started on your selling journey.
Here are Emma’s top three tips.
Her first tip is to make sure your photos are clear and to upload as many of them as you can onto the site so that users can get a closer look at the item.
‘Have lots and lots and lots of really high-quality, well-lit photos of the thing that you’re selling,’ she advises. ‘It’s better that someone can see too much of it than not be able to see enough.’
Emma says words are important to potential buyers. ‘Use as many descriptive words as you possibly can,’ she says.
While holding up a pair of denim shorts in the clip she adds: ‘Say for example I wanted to sell these denim shorts – I could put, “high-waisted denim shorts.”
‘Or I could put, “high-waisted, vintage, retro, cut off, denim, distressed shorts.”
‘Think of the words that someone would say if they were searching for something similar or the same as what you are trying to sell.’
Her final tip is to think carefully about your pricing. This is often make or break for most buyers.
‘Have a think whether your price is too high,’ she notes. ‘Have a look at other people who are selling things that are the same as what you are selling.
‘If there are others for £3 or £4 less than what yours is priced at, nobody is going to buy yours.’
