A mum who ‘twins’ her fashion with her toddler daughter has revealed they’ve amassed 150 little-and-large outfits.
Laura Hampson and her ‘mini me’ daughter, Darlene, have been wearing matching outfits since Darlene was born.
The mum of one from Wigan, Manchester, loves to purposely co-ordinate her style with her little girl, aged 19 months
Laura, 39, works as a visual merchandiser for Monki – and it’s her love for fashion that’s behind her double trouble aesthetic, which first started when Darlene was just a baby.
Laura said her and her little bestie twin their outfits twice a week when Laura isn’t working – and Laura’s keen eye for bold prints and co-ordinating clothes means the pair have a stash of styles ready for spring and summer.
She said: ‘I love matching our outfits. I’ve always bought Darlene clothes in styles and prints that I would wear and not overly traditional “baby” clothes.

‘I love to wear bold designs, polka dots, animal prints and it’s really fun to match what I love with my little girl.’
Laura added: ‘Since Darlene was born we have probably matched 150 times so far but I have a stash of around 20 spring outfits ready for later this year and I’ve bought lots of matching sale items that she can grow into.
‘I love to buy from eBay and charity shops for us both.’

To ensure they’re colour coordinated, Laura has even used her creative talents to dye and alter Darlene’s clothes.
The pair share their matching outfits on Instagram, and the mum and daughter duo have a strong following of mums inspired to do the same.
Laura said: ‘The response I’ve had online has been great and I’ve been stopped in the street.

‘We don’t match all the time but people love to see how we can match the latest trends and seasonal clothing.’
And Laura was thrilled when she found out her and partner Daryl, 34, found out they were expecting a girl.
‘I am so lucky to have a mini me. She is so funny and has such a great personality emerging,’ she said. ;I think she is going to love fashion as much as me.’

The mum admits that Darlene ‘has an incredible wardrobe for her age,’ but insists their complementary clothing was accidental to start with.
She said: ‘It started when I dressed Darlene in a yellow jumpsuit and later thought “I have something similar to this”. I put my jumpsuit on and asked my partner Daryl to take a photo of us matching, just for a laugh.
‘Darlene was born during lockdown and it was just us for a lot of the time.’
At the moment, Laura has no plans to stop – until Darlene tells her to that is.
She said: ‘It’s good fun and I will enjoy looking back on the photos when she is older.
‘I’m going to carry on until she is old enough to tell me she isn’t dressing the same anymore because mum isn’t cool.’
