From her signature red hair circa Mean Girls to her short-lived stint as a platinum blonde, Lindsay Lohan has had quite the wild and crazy hair evolution.
A natural born redhead, there’s no question that the 35-year-old actress always goes back to her rust-colored roots, which she has said makes her feel “spunkier.”
That said, LiLo is known for experimenting with her locks. She’ll switch up her cut, color and length on the regular. And to be quite honest, her hair transformations are nothing short of amazing. In the words of Cady Heron, they’re always pretty freaking gruel.
In her younger years, she was au natural, rocking her brilliant beyond brilliant red hair in movies like Parent Trap and Freaky Friday. But as she rose to stardom, the Lindsay Lohan’s Mykonos Beach Club star started to switch things up.
She tried out chunky blonde highlights around 2002 and then gave face-framing fringe a try in 2003. After that, the star kept going brighter and blonder. She went from honey hues and bright bobs to a caramel color in 2005.
Of course, the Get a Clue actress likes to Us guessing. So, when 2006 rolled around, she totally changed her tune, dyeing her long locks black shortly after starring in Just My Luck.
While she went on to swap between light and dark tones in the following years, she eventually returned to her natural color in 2012.
From there, she played with different tones and glazes in the red family, rocking a more subdued hue to the Jingle Ball concert in 2013.
Lohan was a big fan of the deep (and we mean deep) side part, but in 2016 she switched up her style once again, embracing a center part that she rocks to this day.
In more recent years, she took her red color up a notch, embracing a more auburn shade. In fact, one her best looks was at the premiere of Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, where she styled her long locks into a stunning side ponytail.
While the star hasn’t hit many red carpets over the past year, she has shown her 9 million Instagram followers a glimpse or two of her current ‘do. She’s settled into a copper-esque that’s simply stunning.
