IT can be difficult to find jeans that perfectly conceal the dreaded “mum tum”.
But one plus size style maven has shared her top tips for finding the best jeans for curvy women – and it’s all about the stretch.

“Wearing denim that doesn’t stretch is literally so uncomfortable,” Chrissy B said in a YouTube video.
“You’ll probably have to go up a couple in sizing.
“Every pair of jeans I’ve tried on that have no stretch they never fit me, I always have to go up.
“So finding jeans that has some percentage of material that is stretchy is definitely going to work in your favour, it’s going to be a lot more flattering and a lot more comfortable.”
And you should also look for a pair of high-waisted jeans.
“One of my biggest don’ts for jeans is don’t buy low rise jeans or wear your jeans down like this,” she said.
“Why? Because as you can see, it creates a muffin top.
“A lot of us don’t love a muffin top, we complain about a muffin top, but you know what’s going to help?
“A good pair of high-waisted jeans.”
Pulling her jeans back up, Chrissy added that they “go over my stomach and my love handles, everything is pulled together”.
Another temptation for larger ladies is to go for baggy clothes that conceal their bodies beneath.
But Chrissy is entirely against that idea, and much prefers choosing bodycon ensembles that cling to her curves in all the right places.
“Stop hiding your beautiful, voluptuous body, stop hiding those beautiful curves that God has blessed you with in super baggy and oversized clothing like this,” she said as she modelled a baggy H&M dress.
“This is a huge don’t for women with curvy bodies.
“Why? Because a dress like this automatically makes me look bigger. It’s not accentuating anything, it’s hiding my curves.
“I know a lot of you guys aren’t yet comfortable with your bodies, have not found the confidence to just flaunt your curves – but I promise you, hiding your body in super baggy clothes or in layers is making you look bigger.
“Picking a silhouette that is flattering to your curves is going to do a lot more for your body.
“It’s going to make you look smaller, it will make you look sexier, it will give you that confidence.”
It’s also important to choose the right shapewear or underwear to wear under your clothes, with Chrissy a big fan of Spanx high-waisted power shorts.
And don’t be afraid to experiment with colour.
“I don’t who told curvy or plus size girls to only wear black,” she sighed.
“Who told y’all that you can only wear dark colours? I don’t judge because a lot of time I felt the same way, black was my colour, but put some colour on your body.
“It does something to my confidence when I have on colour and people see it and I’m working it.”
