Two special Euphoria episodes are dropping next month (Picture:HBO)
Euphoria fans it’s time to rejoice as Zendaya has shared the first poster for the hotly-anticipated special episode arriving next week.
It was announced in October that fans would be treated to two episodes ahead of season 2, and there’s not too much longer to wait.
Zendaya, who plays Rue Bennett in the beloved HBO series, posted the artwork for the upcoming chapter on her social media, instantly sending fans into a frenzy.
The blurry poster appears to show Rue lying down with her eyes closed and a tagline painted across her red hoodie reads: ‘This Is Not Season 2.’
It also seems as though the title of the episode has been renamed. Originally, the instalment was slated as ‘Trouble Don’t Always Last’, however, on the poster is written: ‘Part 1: Rue’.
The premiere date, however, remains the same – Sunday December 6.
‘After being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing, the first special episode follows Rue as she celebrates the holiday of Christmas,’ teases the synopsis.
‘Rue’s relapse into drugs leads her to experience euphoria as never seen, and delves into the happiness experienced by narcotics.’
Sadly, there is no information on the second episode just yet – or when the instalments will be available on screens in the UK.
Zendaya previously teased the idea of a ‘bridge episode’ between seasons one and two of the show – but it is unclear if the specials will act as that.
‘We’re trying to figure out how to eventually be able to create a season two that we’re all really proud of and get all the best out of it that we want but also still being very safe,’ she told Jimmy Kimmell in August.
‘So, we might end up doing a little bridge episode. I don’t really know how to describe it, but an episode that we can do with a limited amount of people in a safer environment that can, I don’t know, give people something.’
Euphoria is available to stream on HBO.
