NEW BBC thriller Roadkill starring TV legend Hugh Laurie is set to be a riveting watch.
The four-part show tells the story of a “self-made, forceful and charismatic” MP whose life is ripped apart by a scandal.
Hugh Laurie became a household name as part of a double act with Stephen Fry.
He then saw his profile soar in TV comedy Blackadder from 1986 and medical drama House between 2004 and 2012.
He won Golden Globes in 2006 and 2007 for his performance as Dr Gregory House.
Laurie also starred in BBC’s The Night Manager as baddie Richard Onslow Roper and US comedy Veep.
In Roadkill he plays the MP Peter Laurence who is at the centre of the scandal.
She also made a brief appearance in James Bond movie Skyfall as an MP, as well as taking on the role of Cherie Blair in 2006 movie The Queen.
In 2017 she played Emma Banville in TV mini-series Fearless.
Helen plays the Prime Minister, PM Dawn Ellison, in Roadkill.
Patricia Hodge is best known for her role in stage production Money in 2000.
Other credits include the 1983 film Betrayal, TV show Rumpole of the Bailey and the TV film Hotel du Lac.
She has appeared in Miranda, playing Miranda’s mum Penny, and the Downton Abbey 2015 Christmas Special.
Patricia is newspaper proprietor Lady Roche in Roadkill.
Danny played Aamir Malik in Strike: Lethal White.
He has also starred in Cobra and The Dumping Ground.
Ashok appeared briefly on Corrie in 2011 as Amber Kalirai’s love interest and plays junior barrister Luke Strand in Roadkill.
In 2020, Pippa narrated Bernardine Evaristo’s Girl, Woman, Other for the BBC.
She was also in the cast for the Black Lives Matter-inspired series Unsaid Stories.
Pippa also featured in BBC TV series Gangs Of London.
Danish actress Knudsen, who stars as Madeleine Halle in Roadkill, played Prime Minister Birgitte Nyborg in the telly smash hit Borgen.
She is well known for her role as Theresa Cullen in HBO’s TV series Westworld.
Knudsen has also starred in popular Danish dramas, such as comedy romance Den Eneste Ene.
Saskia starred as Connie Petersen in BBCS’s Us in 2020, and is returning to our TV screens as Helen Laurence in Roadkill.
She is known for her roles in Close My Eyes, I.D. and the miniseries Frank Herbert’s Dune.
Her television work includes Spooks, The Commander and Luther.
Sarah’s first appearance in a movie was as Imelda Egan in Eden.
In 2020 she was on our screens as Lorraine in the hit teen drama Normal People.
She plays newspaper reporter Charmian Pepper in Roadkill.
Roadkill, airing in four parts, will kick off on Sunday, October 18, 2020.
It will be on at 9pm on BBC One.
Each episode will be available on the BBC iPlayer after it has aired.
