How does The Voice Kids 2021 work and is it the same as the regular format?
Created by John de Mol, the singing competition first premiered on ITV during the summer of June 2017.
Based on the original The Voice of Holland, and part of The Voice franchise, it aims to feature young aspiring singers.
Usually, the competition holds four stages, those being:
- Stage 1: Blind Auditions
- Stage 2: Battle Rounds
- Stage 3: Semi-Final
- Stage 4: Live Final
However, as the fifth series is only three episodes, it’s not clear if the battle rounds will be included this time around.
Unlike the adult version, there are never any elimination rounds.
In the first series, the winner received £30,000 and a family trip to Disneyland Paris.
In the third series of The Voice Kids, the winner received £30,000 and the four finalists received a trip to Walt Disney World, Florida on Norwegian Airlines.
In the fourth series, the winner received a £30K prize also, and a family trip to Universal Orlando Resort, Florida, also via Norwegian Airlines.
The Voice Kids is back with judges Danny Jones, will.i.am, Pixie Lott and newcomer Mel CCredit: ITV
Who won the last Voice Kids UK?
The Voice Kids 2020 was won by 13-year-old Justine Afante.
The teenager from Swansea impressed the coaches on day one with her own take of Never Enough from The Greatest Showman during her audition.
Justine was mentored by Pixie Lott, who will be returning for series five as a judge.
Previous winners of the four series have been: Jess Folley, Daniel Davies and Sam Wilkinson.
