WWE NXT: Shawn Michaels Welcomes William Regal Home

Shawn Michaels is delighted to have William Regal back in WWE ‘where he belongs’.

The NXT boss, who is gearing up for Saturday night’s huge NXT Vengeance Day show in Charlotte, North Carolina as the brand goes out of Florida for the first time since 2020, weighed in on Regal’s return and clarified that he’s been focused on his role on the road rather than spending a lot of time at the Performance Center.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk in a media call before this weekend’s event, the Heartbreak Kid said: ‘Obviously it’s great to have him back, and I got to see him at Raw.

‘You know, he hasn’t been down here a bunch obviously because he’s been busy, but at the same time, we’re thrilled. For us, it’s having him home where he belongs.

‘He’s always welcome here at the PC, everyone loves having him here. But quite honestly, it’s one those things where, like a lot of people, it was a very nice homecoming for all of us, to get to see him.’

The Hall of Famer hailed Regal as an ‘OG’ for NXT and revealed while it’s not been possible yet due to the British wrestling legend’s position as Vice President of Global Talent Development.

‘He’s what we consider an OG here, and obviously more than anything, it’s when the real life stuff all matters to us. It’s great to have him here, he’s comfortable back home,’ Michaels added.

‘We’re looking forward to having him down here on a more regular basis, obviously he hasn’t had the opportunity to do that but he’s still getting his feet wet in his role.

‘But he knows, obviously, the invitation is always open down here and he’s welcome any time.’

Michaels was chatting before this weekend’s huge show which will see Bron Breakker defend the NXT Championship against Grayson Waller inside a Steel Cage, while NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez will post her gold on the line in a Triple Threat with Toxic Attraction duo Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne.

As well as the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, the NXT Tag Team Titles and the North American Title all being on the line, there is also another huge clash as Apollo Crews faces Carmelo Hayes in a Two Out of Three Falls match.
